About us

To bridge the gap between blockchain-based technology and the traditional finance world, transforming unmanaged risk into a strategic business advantage.

Bitwave provides enterprise software for businesses managing digital assets within traditional finance workflows. Founded in 2018, the platform automates cryptocurrency accounting, tax tracking, bookkeeping, and treasury management while supporting full DeFi operations including lending pools, liquidity pools, and NFTs. The company bridges blockchain technology with enterprise systems, offering audit-ready reporting that complies with GAAP and IFRS standards. Finance teams use Bitwave to reconcile transactions across 80+ blockchains, integrate with ERP systems like Oracle NetSuite and Sage Intacct, and process B2B stablecoin payments. The fully remote team spans 7+ countries and serves everyone from crypto-native startups to Fortune 500 companies.

Products

The core platform includes a digital asset subledger that automates reconciliation and provides audit-ready reporting with cost-basis tracking using FIFO, LIFO, and specific identification methods. Bitwave's Payments module enables enterprise B2B stablecoin transactions, linking invoices directly to on-chain settlements. The system tracks activity across 80+ blockchains and DeFi protocols, automatically categorizes transactions, detects internal transfers, and posts directly to ledgers. All data integrates with major ERP systems and supports institutional-grade treasury management with custom reporting through data warehousing capabilities.

Funding

Bitwave has raised $22.25 million across two funding rounds. The company closed a $7.25 million seed round in August 2021 led by Blockchain Capital. A $15 million Series A followed in December 2022, led by Hack VC and Blockchain Capital with participation from SignalFire, Valor Equity Partners, Arca, Pulsar Trading, and Alumni Ventures Blockchain Fund. Additional investors include Nascent, Nima Capital, and The Arbitrum Foundation.

Recent news

In March 2026, Bitwave announced support for Ripple's RLUSD stablecoin and demonstrated its utility by completing the first live B2B payment on-chain between the two companies. This was followed in April 2026 by two major integrations: the completion of a payments integration with the Canton Network to enable invoice-linked, on-chain workflows, and a collaboration with Hashgraph to extend its enterprise payments module to support USDC and HBAR on the Hedera network.

Technology

Backend services run primarily on Go with GraphQL, REST, and gRPC APIs, while the frontend uses Vue 3 and TypeScript. Data infrastructure centers on Google Cloud Platform with PostgreSQL, AlloyDB, and BigQuery for storage, plus Databricks for ETL processes handling tens of millions of records. The architecture uses event sourcing and CQRS patterns with Temporal.io orchestrating complex financial workflows. Monitoring relies on New Relic, Grafana, and Prometheus. Integration layers connect to blockchains, exchanges, custodial wallets, and ERP systems.

Benefits

The company operates fully remote with team members across 7+ countries. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, plus a home office stipend for workspace setup. Employees get unlimited PTO, 401(k) support, and competitive compensation packages. The culture emphasizes work-life balance and professional development, with some roles offering learning budgets and mental wellness support. Annual company retreats bring the distributed team together in person.
