About us

To connect institutions to blockchains with one integration.

Blockdaemon provides institutional-grade blockchain infrastructure that helps regulated institutions and developers securely access digital assets. Founded in 2017, the company serves over 400 institutional clients including exchanges, custodians, and financial enterprises, securing more than $110 billion in digital assets across 60+ protocols. The platform offers managed nodes, APIs, staking services, MPC wallets, and blockchain data solutions with enterprise-grade compliance including ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type II certifications. With 70+ global points of presence across multiple cloud and bare metal providers, Blockdaemon delivers 99.9% uptime and 24/7 support. The team is globally distributed and remote-first, working across multiple time zones to build reliable blockchain infrastructure that meets the security and compliance demands of traditional financial institutions entering Web3.

Products

The platform is built around four main pillars: Transaction Services including MPC-based Institutional Vaults and Builder Vaults for secure digital asset custody; Data Services with high-performance RPC APIs, data indexing, and real-time event streaming; Infrastructure Services providing managed node clusters and validator operations; and Staking & Earn services offering compliant institutional staking, liquid staking, and DeFi vault access. Additional products include Gas Station for transaction fee management, Policy Engine for governance controls, and enterprise key management systems. All services run on daemonOS, Blockdaemon's underlying operating system that orchestrates Web3 infrastructure across the supported protocols.

Funding

Blockdaemon has raised approximately $494 million across multiple rounds, reaching a $3.25 billion valuation in its January 2022 Series C led by Sapphire Ventures and Tiger Global. Earlier rounds included a $28 million Series A in June 2021 led by Greenspring Associates with Goldman Sachs participating, and a $155 million Series B in September 2021 led by SoftBank Vision Fund 2. Other investors include Citi Ventures and various institutional backers. The company merged with Taurus in February 2026, marking a significant milestone in its growth trajectory. Revenue has grown consistently, reaching $50 million in 2024 and $75 million in 2025.

Recent news

In February 2026, Blockdaemon announced a major strategic partnership with Taurus, a digital asset infrastructure firm backed by institutions like Deutsche Bank, to integrate and expand institutional-grade crypto staking services for global banking and financial clients.

Technology

The infrastructure runs on cloud-native, microservices architecture using Kubernetes and Helm for orchestration. Backend services are built primarily in Go and Python, while TypeScript handles front-end development. Infrastructure-as-code is managed through Terraform across multi-cloud environments including AWS, Azure, and GCP. Security and API management integrate specialized solutions like Zuplo for gateway validation. The platform supports MPC technology, DVT (Distributed Validator Technology), remote signing, and various blockchain protocols through dedicated APIs and data indexing services.
