Products
Celestia's core offering is high-throughput blockspace through its modular data availability network. Celestia Fibre provides up to 1 Tb/s of capacity, supporting chains that need massive transaction throughput with blob sizes from 256 KB to 128 MB. Celestia Private Blockspace serves confidential onchain finance applications, keeping balances and positions private while maintaining verifiability. The platform uses data availability sampling (DAS) to let light nodes verify large blocks efficiently. Beyond infrastructure, Celestia offers custom blockchain development services, architecting and deploying tailored solutions for teams that already have distribution. The TIA token serves as the native asset for purchasing blockspace, staking for network security, and governance.
Funding
Celestia Labs has raised approximately $156-159 million across multiple rounds. The company secured $1.5 million in seed funding in March 2021 from investors including Binance Labs, Interchain Foundation, Maven 11 Capital, and KR1. In October 2022, Celestia achieved a $1 billion valuation with a combined Series A and B round raising $55 million, co-led by Bain Capital Crypto and Polychain Capital. Additional participants included OKX Ventures, Galaxy Digital, Delphi Digital, and Blockchain Capital. A $100 million Series B followed in September 2024, led by Bain Capital Crypto, Syncracy Capital, 1kx, Robot Ventures, and Placeholder.

Technology
Celestia's infrastructure is built primarily in Golang using the Cosmos SDK framework with CometBFT (formerly Tendermint) for consensus. The team increasingly uses Rust for smart contracts, rollup integrations, and client implementations like Lumina. Networking relies on libp2p and IPFS for decentralized storage. Celestia maintains Rollkit, a framework for deploying sovereign rollups, and uses TypeScript for web interfaces and visualizers. The platform integrates with Rollup-as-a-Service providers like Caldera, Conduit, and Eclipse, supports the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), and uses the Inter-Blockchain Communication (IBC) protocol for cross-chain interoperability. Observability tools include Prometheus for metrics and OpenTelemetry for tracing.
