About us

Advance global financial systems with resilient blockchain technology.

Cosmos Labs is the core team behind the Cosmos blockchain ecosystem, building open-source infrastructure that powers 200+ blockchains in production. These chains manage tens of billions in value through the Cosmos SDK and IBC protocol. The company operates as a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Interchain Foundation, with headquarters in New York City and Berlin. Beyond maintaining the core Cosmos stack, they're applying this technology to bank tokenized deposits — what they describe as the most significant shift in banking infrastructure since SWIFT, aiming for 24/7 asset settlement. The team focuses on enterprise adoption, helping financial institutions and governments integrate blockchain technology while fostering a community of independent builders.

Products

The core offering is the Cosmos Stack: Cosmos SDK for building application-specific blockchains, CometBFT for Byzantine Fault Tolerant consensus, and the IBC protocol for secure cross-chain communication. Cosmos EVM adds Ethereum compatibility with Solidity smart contract support. Skip:Go handles over $1 billion in monthly cross-chain asset transfers. IBC Eureka offers faster-than-finality bridging between Cosmos, Ethereum, and other networks. On the enterprise side, they provide bank-issued tokenized deposits that integrate with existing core banking systems and support real-time settlement. Services include turnkey blockchain builds, co-development partnerships, and blockchain advisory.

Funding

Cosmos Labs doesn't raise traditional venture funding. As a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Interchain Foundation, a Swiss non-profit, the company operates through the Foundation's endowment, which provides sustained funding for the Cosmos technology stack and ecosystem development. This structure allows them to focus on long-term infrastructure building rather than typical startup funding cycles.

Recent news

On June 4, 2026, Cosmos Labs announced the acquisition of the Mintscan product suite and the formation of a new Seoul-based subsidiary, Cosmos Labs Korea Co., Ltd. (CLK), to centralize stewardship of key ecosystem components including Skip:Go, IBC Eureka, and the Cosmos Hub.

Technology

Built on the Cosmos Stack with Go as the primary development language for core components like ibc-go. The architecture includes Cosmos SDK for application logic, CometBFT consensus engine, IBC protocol for interoperability, and Cosmos EVM for Ethereum compatibility. CosmWasm provides WebAssembly-based smart contracts alongside Solidity support. The Application Blockchain Interface (ABCI) connects consensus and application layers. Infrastructure integrates with diverse ecosystems including Ethereum, EVM chains, and Solana through specialized light clients.

Benefits

Core team members work in person in NYC and Berlin, with remote options for talent within 6 hours of NYC timezone. US employees get 18 days paid leave, premium health insurance, competitive regional compensation plus token compensation (quarterly ATOM equity), and office space with remote work accommodations. International benefits are tailored to local norms. The company emphasizes mentorship for career growth and maintains a culture focused on documentation, learning, and fast shipping with short feedback cycles.
