About us

Helping the world invest, build, and transform — relentlessly.

Galaxy Digital operates as a global leader bridging traditional finance with digital assets and AI infrastructure. Since 2018, the company has built an institutional platform spanning trading, investment banking, asset management, staking, self-custody, and tokenization technology. Galaxy also invests in and operates data center infrastructure to power AI and high-performance computing, addressing growing demand for scalable energy and compute in the U.S. The team serves over 1,600 institutional trading counterparties including hedge funds, banks, trading firms, and Web3 startups. With $9 billion in assets under management as of March 2026, Galaxy positions itself as a center of gravity in digital asset markets and a major liquidity provider globally. Headquartered in New York City, the company maintains offices across North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.

Products

Galaxy's core offerings divide into three segments: Global Markets, Asset Management, and Digital Infrastructure. Global Markets provides institutional-grade OTC and electronic trading, crypto derivatives, lending, and investment banking advisory. Asset Management offers alternative investments, global ETFs, and venture capital funds through Galaxy Ventures and Galaxy Interactive. The technology arm delivers blockchain infrastructure including staking, tokenization, and enterprise-grade self-custody through its GK8 platform. Galaxy recently launched GalaxyOne, a unified platform allowing users to manage cash, crypto, and equities in one place. The company also operates the Helios data center campus in Texas - a 1,500-acre, 1.6-gigawatt facility originally for Bitcoin mining, now repurposed for AI and high-performance computing workloads.

Funding

Galaxy Digital is publicly traded on both the Toronto Stock Exchange and Nasdaq under ticker GLXY. Rather than traditional venture funding, the company launched in 2018 with approximately $300 million in private seed capital before going public via reverse takeover. Galaxy has since utilized capital markets for expansion, including a $1.4 billion debt offering in August 2025 and an equity raise of approximately $598 million in May 2025. These funds have supported strategic scaling across asset management, global markets, and large-scale data center infrastructure projects. The company reported quarterly revenues nearing $10 billion and trailing 12-month revenues exceeding $56 billion in Q1 2026.

Recent news

In June 2026, Galaxy Digital's shares surged over 20% following the announcement that the company's massive 1.6-gigawatt Helios data center campus in Texas is being fully repurposed from cryptocurrency mining to support artificial intelligence and high-performance computing (HPC) workloads.

Technology

Galaxy employs a cloud-native infrastructure hosted on AWS and orchestrated using Kubernetes, Terraform, and Docker. Backend systems use Python, Go, Rust, and Java, while frontend relies on TypeScript and React. Data engineering leverages Databricks, dbt, Airflow, and PostgreSQL with Kafka for messaging. Security integrates SAST, DAST, and SCA tools into CI/CD pipelines alongside advanced cryptographic patterns like Multi-Party Computation (MPC) and multi-signature protocols. The architecture centers on secure microservices with robust authentication, authorization, TLS and PKI implementations. Observability runs on Datadog, Prometheus, and Grafana, ensuring operational excellence across trading systems and blockchain architectures. Teams also utilize AWS Secrets Manager, HashiCorp Vault, and HSM technology for secrets management.
