About us

To accelerate the global adoption of decentralized applications by building ultra-high-performance blockchain infrastructure.

Built as a high-performance EVM Layer 1, Monad delivers 10,000 transactions per second with sub-second finality while maintaining full Ethereum compatibility. Developers can deploy existing Solidity contracts without modification, using familiar tools like Hardhat and Foundry. The blockchain achieves this performance through parallel execution, superscalar pipelining, and MonadDB—a custom database built for asynchronous I/O. With DeFi protocols already live and deploying, Monad positions itself as infrastructure that removes the trade-off between speed and decentralization. The network runs on consumer-grade hardware, making validation accessible while supporting institutional-grade throughput.

Products

Monad is an EVM-compatible Layer 1 blockchain that processes 10,000 TPS with sub-second finality and low fees. The platform maintains 100% bytecode compatibility with Ethereum, allowing seamless deployment of existing contracts and tooling. Key innovations include MonadBFT consensus with pipelining and MonadDB for efficient state access. The ecosystem includes DeFi protocols, lending markets, DEXs, yield vaults, and RWA tokenization platforms. Additional tools include Monadscan (block explorer), MonadVision, and Bugfinder for smart contract vulnerability detection.

Funding

Monad Labs has raised over $400 million across multiple rounds, reaching a $3.2 billion valuation. The company secured $19 million in seed funding led by Dragonfly Capital in February 2023, followed by a $225 million Series A led by Paradigm in April 2024. A $300 million Series B led by Coinbase Ventures closed in April 2026. In November 2025, Monad conducted an ICO raising $128.7 million. Investors include Paradigm, Electric Capital, Coinbase Ventures, Greenoaks, Castle Island Ventures, OKX Ventures, and Naval Ravikant.

Recent news

In November 2025, Monad Labs officially launched the Monad public mainnet alongside an Initial Coin Offering (ICO) for its native $MON token on Coinbase.

Technology

The Monad client is built from scratch in C++ and Rust for maximum performance. Development uses Clang/LLVM for compilation, CMake for builds, and runs as Linux daemons. Advanced asynchronous I/O with io_uring and the Asio library optimizes storage and networking. MonadDB enables parallel execution through custom state management. Despite the custom architecture, full EVM compatibility means developers use standard Ethereum tools—Solidity, Hardhat, Foundry—without modification. The ecosystem supports DeFi primitives, oracle integrations, and RWA tokenization platforms.

Benefits

Monad offers 100% employer-covered medical, dental, and vision insurance for US employees. The team gets unlimited and encouraged PTO, 10 company holidays, and paid parental leave. There's a monthly mental health and wellness stipend, plus a 401(k) with company match. Remote work is supported with a home office allowance, while NYC headquarters employees receive lunch and dinner stipends. The culture emphasizes high autonomy, low ego, and treating protocol success as your own. Equity compensation is standard.
