About us

To enable developers, businesses, and individuals to harness the full potential of Ethereum technology through high-performance, scalable infrastructure.

Built as the original developer of Arbitrum, Offchain Labs has become a key player in Ethereum scaling infrastructure. The company develops layer-two solutions that help Ethereum handle global demand while maintaining security. Arbitrum One, their flagship product, is widely used by enterprises, developers, and users for faster, cheaper transactions. Beyond scaling, Offchain Labs builds enterprise blockchain infrastructure and provides strategic advisory services for organizations moving onchain. The team operates with a research-first approach, bridging academic innovation with production-grade systems for the programmable economy.

Products

Arbitrum One handles the majority of Ethereum layer-two transaction volume through optimistic rollup technology. Arbitrum Nova focuses on high-volume, low-cost transactions using AnyTrust technology. Arbitrum Orbit lets teams launch custom chains with their own scaling parameters. Stylus enables smart contract development in Rust, C, and C++ beyond just Solidity. The company also maintains Prysm, which powers a significant portion of Ethereum consensus nodes, and recently acquired ZeroDev for advanced smart account infrastructure.

Funding

The company has raised approximately $124-145 million across multiple rounds since 2018. After a $3.8 million seed round in January 2019, Offchain Labs closed a $20 million Series A in April 2021, followed by a $100 million Series B in August 2021 led by Lightspeed Venture Partners. The Series B valued the company at $1.2 billion, reaching unicorn status. Investors include Polychain Capital, Pantera Capital, and Alameda Research. As of 2025, the company reports approximately $29.6 million in annual revenue.

Recent news

In June 2026, Offchain Labs demonstrated strong commitment to the Arbitrum ecosystem by significantly increasing its holdings of the native ARB token, coinciding with the network's Total Value Locked (TVL) surpassing $20 billion in late 2025/early 2026.

Technology

Backend development uses Rust for performance-critical blockchain infrastructure, with Golang for consensus client work and Solidity for smart contracts. Frontend applications run on Next.js and React with Tailwind CSS styling. The Arbitrum SDK provides developer tooling, while custom tooling helps teams launch new chains. Infrastructure includes Cloudflare integration and PostHog analytics. Content management runs through Sanity CMS. All smart contract deployment happens in EVM environments, with increasing support for multi-language development through Stylus.
