About us

Build breakthrough crypto solutions for a world without economic borders.

Ripple builds blockchain-based financial infrastructure for institutions that want to move money as efficiently as information moves today. The company works with banks, fintechs, governments, and businesses across 90+ countries to modernize cross-border payments and digital asset management. Rather than disrupting existing systems, Ripple partners with regulators and central banks to enhance traditional financial infrastructure with crypto and blockchain technology. With over 900 employees and products in commercial use across 50+ countries, Ripple positions itself at the intersection of traditional finance and digital assets, helping institutions operate securely and compliantly across both worlds.

Products

Ripple's core offering is Ripple Payments, which enables instant, low-cost cross-border transfers across crypto, stablecoins, and local currencies. The platform includes Ripple Custody for institutional-grade digital asset storage and tokenization, Prime Brokerage for multi-asset clearing and risk-based financing, and Treasury Management with AI-powered cash visibility tools. RLUSD, launched in late 2024, is Ripple's compliance-first stablecoin backed 1:1 by USD and issued on both the XRP Ledger and Ethereum. All products are built on or integrate with the XRP Ledger (XRPL), Ripple's energy-efficient blockchain.

Funding

Ripple has raised over $1 billion across 18 funding rounds. The company secured a $500 million Series D in November 2025 led by Fortress Investment Group and Citadel Securities, valuing Ripple at $40 billion. Previous rounds include a $200 million Series C in December 2019 with Temasek Holdings and a $55 million Series B in September 2016 led by Standard Chartered Bank. In March 2026, Ripple initiated a $750 million share buyback program that boosted its valuation to $50 billion. The company has also made strategic acquisitions, including the $1.25 billion purchase of prime brokerage Hidden Road.

Recent news

In March 2026, Ripple launched a $750 million share buyback program for investors and employees, which increased the company's valuation to $50 billion. Furthermore, in June 2026, Ripple introduced the XRPL AI Starter Kit, allowing AI agents to perform automated payments using XRP and RLUSD.

Technology

Engineering teams primarily use Java and Spring Boot for backend services, with flexibility to work in Go, Kotlin, C#, Python, and Rust. Frontend development uses JavaScript and TypeScript. Infrastructure is cloud-native on AWS with Kubernetes and ECS for container orchestration. The data platform runs on Databricks and Apache Spark for machine learning pipelines. Event-driven architectures use Kafka and SNS/SQS for asynchronous data flows. CI/CD pipelines leverage GitLab, Vault, and Artifactory. All solutions integrate with the XRP Ledger (XRPL), and data storage uses PostgreSQL and Redis with NGINX as the web server.
