About us

To build the infrastructure for the modern economy and drive the mass adoption of digital assets.

Sei Network operates as a specialized Layer 1 blockchain built specifically for trading and global finance. Unlike general-purpose blockchains, Sei focuses on the infrastructure demands of digital asset markets, achieving sub-400ms finality and processing up to 200,000 transactions per second through its Autobahn consensus mechanism. The network combines full EVM compatibility with parallelized execution, allowing developers to use standard Ethereum tooling while accessing performance that rivals centralized exchanges. With over 80 million wallets created and more than four billion transactions processed, Sei has become a leading EVM chain by active users. Global firms including Coinbase, Binance, Circle, and VanEck rely on the network for high-frequency trading, DeFi applications, stablecoins, and tokenized real-world assets.

Products

Sei provides a Layer 1 blockchain platform with a built-in order matching engine and shared liquidity access for trading applications. The network features optimistic parallelization, a custom SeiDB storage backend, and frontrunning prevention mechanisms. Developer tools include the @sei-js TypeScript SDK, Scaffold Sei CLI for rapid dApp deployment, and the Sei Global Wallet with social login support through Google, X, and Telegram. The Sei V2 upgrade introduced full EVM compatibility while maintaining the network's performance advantages. Current development focuses on the 'Giga' infrastructure upgrade to further scale throughput.

Funding

Sei Network has raised over $120 million across multiple rounds. The company secured $5 million in seed funding in August 2022 led by Multicoin Capital, followed by a $30 million strategic round in April 2023 that valued the network at $800 million. An $85 million ICO in September 2023 brought total disclosed funding to approximately $120 million. Key investors include Jump Crypto, Multicoin Capital, Coinbase Ventures, Distributed Global, Hudson River Trading, Flow Traders, Circle Ventures, and GSR. The funding supports technical development, ecosystem growth, and expansion into global markets.

Recent news

In February 2026, Toku launched a Sei-native stablecoin payroll system on the network, enabling employees and remittances to be paid and settled instantly on-chain.

Technology

The core Sei blockchain is built primarily in Go, powering the sei-chain repository, Autobahn consensus mechanism, and SeiDB state management system. As a parallelized EVM, the network supports Solidity smart contracts while utilizing Rust for specific cryptographic utilities. Frontend and tooling leverage TypeScript, React, and Next.js, integrating with Web3 libraries including Ethers.js, Wagmi, Viem, and Hardhat. Infrastructure utilizes modular Cosmos SDK components, with deployment managed through AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform. Database systems include both SQL and NoSQL solutions optimized for high-throughput blockchain operations.

Benefits

Sei Labs operates as a fully distributed, remote-first organization with flexible work arrangements. The team maintains a hybrid office space in NoHo, NYC for those who prefer in-person collaboration. Employees receive competitive total compensation packages including equity options and the flexibility to align schedules with crypto market activities. The culture emphasizes deep ownership of complex engineering problems, with abundant professional development opportunities and mentorship from experienced Web3 leaders. Engineers work at the forefront of blockchain infrastructure, taking ownership over both individual contributions and team outcomes.
