About us

To pioneer and build the next generation of secure, compliant, and scalable capital markets infrastructure.

Founded in 2018, Taurus is a regulated Swiss fintech that provides digital asset infrastructure to banks, exchanges, and other financial institutions globally. The company operates at the intersection of traditional finance and blockchain technology, offering a comprehensive platform for custody, tokenization, and trading of cryptocurrencies, tokenized securities, and digital currencies. With over 50% market share in Switzerland, Taurus serves clients ranging from systemic banks to private banking institutions. The platform is API-first and modular, supporting any blockchain and smart contract while maintaining enterprise-grade security and compliance standards including FINMA, ISO 27001, and ISAE 3402 Type II. Operating from technology hubs across multiple regions, Taurus has expanded globally with offices in São Paulo and New York.

Products

Taurus offers four core products: Taurus-PROTECT provides enterprise custody with hot, warm, and cold storage using advanced HSM and MPC technology. Taurus-CAPITAL handles tokenization and lifecycle management of digital assets across public and permissioned blockchains. Taurus-PRIME offers trading services for both cryptocurrencies and tokenized securities, including OTC trading and primary/secondary markets. Taurus-NETWORK facilitates interbank collateral management and settlement. The company also operates T-DX, a regulated digital asset marketplace integrated with its custody and tokenization infrastructure.

Funding

Taurus has raised approximately $75.6 million across two rounds. The company secured a Series A in April 2020 led by Arab Bank Switzerland, with participation from Investis Group, Lombard Odier, and the Tezos Foundation. In February 2023, Taurus completed a $65 million Series B led by Credit Suisse, with Deutsche Bank, Pictet Group, Cedar Mundi Ventures, Arab Bank Switzerland, and Investis participating. The Series B transaction received Swiss regulator FINMA approval.

Recent news

In May 2026, Taurus announced that its Cyprus subsidiary, Taurus (Europe) Ltd, received a MiFID investment firm license from the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC), expanding its regulated presence across the EU for MiFID services related to financial instruments, including tokenized DLT financial instruments.

Backend development primarily uses Go, Rust, and Java with Angular for frontend interfaces. Infrastructure runs on Linux with Kubernetes and OpenShift orchestration. Deployment relies on Docker containers with Ansible and Terraform for automation and infrastructure-as-code. The platform includes comprehensive monitoring, alerting, and resilience systems. Database work involves SQL, with scripting in Python, Shell, and YAML. The company has migrated to Red Hat OpenShift and uses Elasticsearch operators for observability across production, testing, and development environments.
