To strengthen our growing Enterprise Applications & Architecture (EAA) team, we are looking for an experienced Director, Enterprise Product Mgt & Engineering (Finance and HR Business Units), passionate about redefining technology into critical business value. You will synthesize a product vision and partner with Business Units to lead engineering teams to build, launch, and scale business processes. You will report to the Sr. Director of Enterprise Applications and Architecture, and be part of the larger Coinbase Customer Experience Organization. You will be the primary partner supporting the CFO and the finance organization, Legal, and HR.

What you’ll be doing (i.e., job duties):

Product Management:

  • Lead a Product Management organizations delivering high quality PRDs, roadmaps, and backlogs
  • Run ideation and act as a thought partner for multiple Business Units: Finance, Legal, and HR,
  • Build strong relationships with various levels of stakeholders across the company
  • Effectively communicate with all levels of staff, including executive level stakeholders
  • Prioritize and maintain BU backlogs and cross-BU interdependencies
  • Convey product vision through bold product roadmaps and proactively plan future capabilities, working closely with key SAAS platform vendors - Netsuite, Coupa, Anaplan, Workday, etc.
  • Capture and influence business team’s vision and requirements
  • Present Demos to business units of capabilities completed
  • Ensure PMs sign off on completed work in a timely manner
  • Ensure PMs document and drive successful Business Sign-off or User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with BUs
  • Identify and resolve inefficiencies in PM tools, process, and workflows as well as brainstorming new methods of efficiency to support our key business partners
  • Articulate build or buy recommendations for key capabilities, required to deliver various aspects of the product solution
  • Articulate competitive advantage vs infrastructure and scalability capabilities
  • Define and analyze metrics that mature the Product Management function

Engineering:

  • Lead an Engineering organization ensuring high-quality technical delivery grounded in business need
  • Build and maintain a high-performing organization capable of delivering interfaces, integrations, and features across a variety of HR, Finance, and Legal product vendors.
  • Operate in a Plan-Buy/Configure/Integrate-Run model
  • Prioritize and maintain engineering work and cross-BU interdependencies
  • Convey engineering vision through bold, scalable architecture and proactively plan future capabilities, working closely with key SAAS platform vendors
  • Identify and resolve inefficiencies in Engineering tools, process, and workflows as well as brainstorming new methods of efficiency to support our key business partners
  • Articulate build or buy recommendations for key capabilities, required to deliver various aspects of the product solution
  • Articulate competitive advantage vs infrastructure and scalability capabilities
  • Define and analyze metrics that mature the Engineering function

What we look for in you (ie. job requirements):

  • BA/BS in Engineering, Computer Sciences or related field
  • 10+ years experience in Product Mgt and Engineering, including custom and packaged apps and platforms
  • Experience working with Hr, Finance, and Legal 3rd-party applications
  • Experience with Automation of testing and CI/CD for above platforms
  • People Management experience in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience leading uncertainty and changing requirements in a high-growth, startup environment
  • Background working with Agile sprints, backlogs in Jira
  • Experience with Docker, Github, PagerDuty
  • Background in non-functional requirements like scalability, automation testing, and security
  • Experience with vendor management is a plus

Nice to haves:

  • Experience in the Financial industry
  • Experience with Snowflake, Looker, or equivalent applications
  • Lean Six Sigma background
  • Passionate about the crypto economy and DeFi
