The ideal candidate will be a crypto-forward individual with a drive to see beyond the curve, possess a strong knowledge of various networking protocols and the ability to maintain the pulse of new and emerging projects across the crypto ecosystem. This role will report to the Asset and Ecosystem Monitoring Manager and will be located in the US / remote.

What you’ll be doing (ie. job duties):

  • Analyze projects in DeFi, Web 3.0, and the broader crypto ecosystem to identify associated risks.
  • Perform due diligence on project teams, project design, and project use cases.
  • Identify novel risks and assess the adequacy of existing controls. Propose enhancements and mitigations to manage risks.
  • Proactively consult with product and business teams. Ensure new product launches are compliant with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Present research findings and recommendations to varied audiences, including senior leaders in Product and Risk. Educate and inform Compliance teams on current ecosystem trends and risks.
  • Conduct proactive research, including ad hoc due diligence and special projects;

What we look for in you (ie. job requirements):

  • Working knowledge of the crypto ecosystem including Layer 1s, Layer 2s, DeFi and Web 3.0.
  • Resourceful and scrappy investigator familiar with open-source crypto research tools and techniques.
  • Working knowledge of banking laws, rules, and regulations including BSA/AML regs, OFAC requirements and consumer protections regulations.
  • Strong communicator, well versed in communicating to varied audiences
  • Ability to independently overcome hurdles to drive questions and problems to closure
  • Effective interpersonal and time management skills;
  • Excellent writing, analytical and communication prowess;
  • B.A./B.S. degree or higher

Nice to haves:

  • Direct experience working in crypto
  • Working knowledge of either: Mandarin, Russian, Arabic, Spanish;
  • Knowledge of SQL, Python, Solidity, or other coding languages.

Notice for Colorado applicants as required by sb19-085 (8-5-20). Target annual salary for this role performed in Colorado, is $113,900 + target bonus + target equity + benefits (including medical, dental, vision and 401(k)).
