Developer Evangelist

About The Role:

Do you want to help support thousands of developers journey to web3? Hedera is looking for a developer evangelist to help enable and excite engineers on the future of the internet. You’ll be one of the faces of Hedera’s growing open source developer community. Your day-to-day will consist of evangelizing with live code sessions on Twitch, creating easy to follow tutorials, sharing the future of web3 at conferences, and generating user feedback loops for more informed product decisions.

Responsibilities:

• Become embedded in the Hedera developer community to deeply understand developer concerns and needs
• Write sample code, build creative new conference talks, make screencasts, make compelling tutorial videos, and write some of the best blog posts the distributed ledger world has ever seen
• Help other developers by interacting on Discord, Stack Overflow, Twitter, GitHub, or places where developers come for help online
• Speaking (virtually) at meetup groups, conferences, developer trainings, etc.
• Hosting and organizing hackathons, meetups, workshops, and other events
• Identify gaps that are needed to meet the needs of developers, and design creative solutions to meet these needs
• Represent the developer community to the Hedera product and engineering teams, making sure that everything we build is easy to learn and sensible to use
• Research and report on projects and trends in the broader blockchain space

Qualifications, Experience and Attributes must have:

• Passionate and excited about the web3 industry and its potential
• 3-5 years of programming experience in at least one of: Java, JavaScript, or Go
• You’re comfortable speaking, tweeting, writing, and teaching complex technical topics
• You have an understanding of fullstack applications and ability to build simple prototypes

Qualifications, Experience and Attributes nice to have:

• Experience with smart contracts, ideally Solidity
• You have experience contributing to open source communities
• Previous experience as a developer evangelist or advocate
