Coinbase Cloud is the leading blockchain infrastructure provider, and we are looking for an exceptional Senior Software Engineer to join our highly-skilled and passionate team. The ideal candidate is an experienced, motivated, self-starting engineer with a love for building containerized applications in a cloud native development environment.

What you'll be doing:

  • Work to support the infrastructure powering blockchain networks on our platform. This means containerizing, YAML templating, and otherwise writing code that facilitates a variety of workloads running on our Kubernetes based platform every day
  • Interact and collaborate with other engineers and team members; we have a highly focused and collaborative team. Our team prioritizes creating a shared understanding of our systems/supported networks, and we are dedicated to supporting each other on a daily basis.
  • Contribute to deep architecture discussions. We are looking for a strong technical leader that can help drive and own support for multiple infrastructure systems.
  • Build self-service infrastructure that can be reused and consumed by a variety of partner teams
  • Incorporate monitoring, alerting, and observability systems that allow us to maintain the highest standards of health, reliability and uptime.
  • Write integration tests and contribute to maintaining a healthy CI/CD pipeline.
  • Work with engineers and senior leadership to turn our product and technical vision into a tangible roadmap every quarter.
  • Write high quality, well tested code to meet the needs of your customers.

What we look for in you:

  • Proficiency in a modern programming language such as Go, Python, or Rust
  • Experience containerizing modern applications, particularly distributed systems like blockchain networks (though experience with blockchain networks in particular is not a requirement)
  • Familiarity with Go and the Kubernetes ecosystem
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to proactively manage the needs of a growing company with minimal oversight
  • You’ve designed, built, scaled and maintained production services, and know how to compose a service oriented architecture.
  • You write high quality, well tested code to meet the needs of your customers.
  • You’re passionate about building an open financial system that brings the world together.

Nice to haves:

  • You have gone through a rapid growth in your company (from startup to mid-size, mid-size to large-scale, etc.).
  • You have experience with Blockchain technology (such as Bitcoin, Ethereum etc..)
  • You’ve built financial, high reliability or security systems.
