We run a global marketplace platform to crowdfund microloans for financially excluded entrepreneurs, farmers and students around the world. Through Kiva Capital, we serve as a bridge between large scale impact first investors and underserved populations. Our digital identity platform enables borrowers who don’t have a track record with traditional financial institutions to record and verify their financial history and gain access to less costly mainstream financial markets.

Role overview:

This role will create and execute a marketing strategy to drive new user growth for the Kiva marketplace across paid media channels. We’re looking for a creative and results-driven team player who brings accountability, innovation, and an enthusiastic customer focus to the team.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated ability to work both strategically and tactically across a diverse set of performance marketing channels in order to establish programs that drive upper funnel awareness and lower funnel conversion. They will have a proven track record of delivering results across paid media channels, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize various initiatives. As a growth marketer, you should also have a passion for testing, learning and making data-driven decisions.

This is a highly cross-functional role, you will work closely with creative, product, engineering, analytics, and external agencies to develop acquisition campaigns. You will report into the Senior Manager, Acquisition, but will need to be a self-starter who wants to roll up your sleeves.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Create, execute, and optimize a strategy to drive new customer acquisition through paid media channels
  • Develop and produce regular reporting on KPIs for all acquisition initiatives
  • Serve as day-to-day contact with external paid agency partner
  • Write creative briefs and partner with the creative team to design campaign assets and landing pages that drive conversion and align with our brand guidelines
  • Identify strategic opportunities and prioritize them against other tactical actions to achieve a balance of short term and long-term performance
  • Support in vetting and launching new acquisition channels
  • Partner with Data Science to uncover user insights, create experimentation roadmaps, targeted segmentation, and execute a rigorous A/B testing agenda to enhance campaign effectiveness
  • Be the voice and an expert on the prospective lender audience
  • Work cross-functionally with Product Marketing, Product Management, Design, Support, etc. to fuel product adoption and go-to-market launches
  • Help create scalable processes across cross-functional teams

Preferred qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in performance marketing capacity, with demonstrated experience optimizing online media campaigns towards specific marketing goals, such as CaC
  • Hands-on experience with ad platform management (Facebook Ads, GoogleAds, etc.)
  • Proven track record of managing a sizeable budget and scaling marketing efforts in support of a rapidly growing business
  • Strong attention to detail with experience in QA and execution
  • Deep experimentation experience and mindset with a proven track record of executing A/B tests, optimizing campaigns and translating data into insights
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in analyzing raw data, drawing conclusions, and making recommendations - proficiency with analytical tools is a must (i.e.: Google Analytics, Looker, Excel, SQL, etc)
  • Creative and empathetic thinker; you care deeply about our users and have a customer-first approach
  • Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, specifically with external agencies, Creative, Product, Data Science, and Engineering
  • Thrives in fast-paced environments and can adapt quickly to shifting priorities
  • Thinks strategically, but stays on top of tactical execution
  • Experience building out new strategies and programs from the ground up; you understand the technical needs for implementation
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
