At dYdX you'll have an opportunity to be part of a team building state-of-the-art decentralized technology that will redefine global financial markets. As part of the legal team, you’ll have the opportunity to help shape the future of dYdX and decentralized finance. You will be working with our General Counsel and business teams on some of the most cutting-edge and interesting legal, technical and business issues involving cryptocurrencies and blockchain technologies.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with a broad range of legal matters, including corporate, securities, employment, intellectual property, privacy and dispute resolution
  • Draft and negotiate commercial agreements
  • Develop internal processes for legal project management and cross-team coordination
  • Provide risk-weighted legal advice to management on contract negotiations and transactional activity
  • Perform legal research on regulatory issues and remain up-to-date on developments in decentralized finance
  • Assist the General Counsel in implementing, operating, and enhancing regulatory compliance policies, processes and procedures

REQUIREMENTS:

  • JD degree and active law license in good standing
  • 2+ years of transactional experience at a law firm or in-house
  • Strong interest in cryptocurrencies and decentralized finance
  • Ability to take ownership of projects and make actionable recommendations
  • Incredible organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize matters
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an appropriate blend of professionalism and friendliness
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent collaborator

NICE TO HAVES:

  • Experience with legal regimes applicable to the decentralized finance industry
  • Experience with derivatives
  • Prior experience with venture-backed technology companies
