Offchain Labs is building a suite of scaling solutions for Ethereum. This includes Arbitrum, an Optimistic Rollup, that instantly scales apps, reducing costs and increasing capacity, without sacrificing Ethereum's security. Porting contracts to Arbitrum requires no code changes or downloads since it’s compatible with existing Ethereum developer languages and tooling.

Our team is extremely passionate and works tirelessly to bridge the gap between what blockchain is and what blockchain can be. After raising an initial round of $3.8M in seed funding in January 2019 and a $20M series A, as well as a $120M series B in 2021, we are ready to hire additional team members that have an interest in working in the blockchain space and a knack for approaching problems in unconventional ways.

Who you are
  • Eager to bring cutting-edge research to the real world and help build a platform for the next generation of cryptocurrency applications
  • Capable of explaining difficult security issues and how to best tackle them in a clear and concise manner
  • Security-minded and always keeping an eye out for potential threats and vulnerabilities in your code
  • Able to identify and fix security issues across levels of a system, from design/protocol errors to coding errors to integration issues
  • Possess strong debugging and reverse engineering skills
  • Always pushing the limits of the design and codebase in order to identify and fix potential security flaws
  • Ability to work with a variety of programming languages and tools and quickly adapt to new development environments
  • Strong production experience with a compiled language (C/C++, Go, or Rust)
  • Possess a strong sense of ownership in your work, which drives you to find ways to do things better and faster
  • Always up-to-speed on the latest technologies
  • Constantly on the lookout for new and innovative ways to solve complex problems through rigorous experimentation
  • Your communication style is open, transparent and direct, and you consistently work in tight collaboration with your teammates

    • What you'll do
  • Be the go-to source for security guidance to the engineering and product teams
  • Focus on finding, managing and the resolving any security vulnerabilities present in Arbitrum
  • Perform internal security audits and penetration testing
  • Liaison with external security auditors
  • Work with Immunefi to manage our bug bounty program by evaluating submissions and mitigating, and properly disclosing discovered vulnerabilities
  • Actively search out undiscovered vulnerabilities in our products and implement fixes
  • Build threat models and conduct risk assessments for new features and services
  • Perform regular code and protocol reviews
  • Develop and lead implementation of countermeasures and assist with any future enhancements
  • Work with research team to develop threat models and formally prove security claims
