Technical Project Director

IO Global, creator of the Cardano blockchain platform, is searching for an outstanding Technical Project Director to join its Special Projects team. This project refers to innovative applications of blockchain technology that include robust programming environments, market-driven use cases, and some unique value propositions for a variety of customers.

IO Global has a track record of delivering best-in-class blockchains and related technologies, and this project continues that tradition. The Technical Project Director will play a crucial role in leading this project. By joining this unique venture, the selected candidate will be part of the exciting journey IOG is undertaking to continue raising the bar in blockchains and blockchain applications.

Your mission

• Develop your team and create an effective team culture and processes
• Ensure the technical feasibility and timely delivery of products
• Help the Product team assess the commercial feasibility
• Propose and negotiate the project requirements
• Determine and define clear deliverables, and roles and responsibilities for staff members required for specific projects or initiatives
• Maintain high standards of software quality within the team by establishing best practices and performing code reviews for the software development team. Follow appropriate coding standards.
• Work closely with the Architecture, Product Management, Project Management, DevOps, and Executive teams to deliver the product roadmap
• Participate in the allocation of budget, staff, and any other resource(s) needed to accomplish or achieve set out goals, and also monitor the performance of every project.

Your expertise

• Engineering / Computer Science advanced degree, ideally PhD
• 10+ years experience in the software industry
• Experience coaching teams within challenging environments
• Experience transitioning research into product
• Proven experience in people management
• Proven experience in strategic planning
• Experience mentoring and developing rising talent in the technology department
• Good interpersonal skills to be able to relate with people or personnel from different units of the company.

Location

IOG is a fully distributed organization and therefore this is a remote position. Due to team distribution we are ideally searching for someone in a US time zone.
