IOG is creating an Innovation Group as part of our Corporate Strategy team. The strategy office plays an integral role in accelerating corporate objectives and defining the direction of the organization. The team works cross-functionally to ensure the ongoing evolution of the company and supports our team in creating leading-edge solutions for our customers.

The innovation team is a new group and will focus on developing new innovation projects in the blockchain space. This is an exciting opportunity to join a new and growing team as we identify the future of IOG. At its core, this team will be responsible for assessing innovation ideas, understanding their potential, and deciding on the best path forward, eg incubation, investment potential, etc.

As a Scrum Master in the innovation group, you will be responsible for organizing the innovation team in the assessment of ideas, keeping track of the roadmap, deadlines and budget. The Scrum Master role requires leadership capabilities and strong decision making skills. You will be responsible for prioritizing which projects to pursue and developing a point of view through a thorough understanding of the diverse opportunities presented. As a Scrum Master, you will manage the whole innovation process (from idea to investment) with a strong sense of ownership and the ability to drive these ideas to life.

Your mission

  • Lead the planning and implementation of innovation projects
  • Be the primary point of contact for the project team with IOHK internal stakeholders
  • Work closely with other members of the Innovation Team (POs, Technical Architects, Business Intelligence, Strategy team in general)
  • Ensure careful expectation management of internal and external stakeholders
  • Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals, and deliverables
  • Define project tasks and resource requirements
  • Develop full-scale project plans
  • Assemble and coordinate project staff
  • Manage project budget
  • Assist leadership with project resource allocation
  • Assist leadership with scheduling project timelines
  • Track project deliverables using appropriate tools
  • Work closely with key project stakeholders and coordinate cross-functional activity within IOHK to ensure projects are delivered according to defined scope and on time
  • Constantly monitor and report on the progress of the project to all stakeholders
  • Collate and present reports defining project progress, problems, and solutions
  • Schedule, chair and minute all weekly operational and stakeholder meetings
  • Manage the RAID Log (Risks, Actions, Issues, and Dependencies (we use Decisions here), update with all project actions coordinate with individuals and teams on the status of all items
  • Coordinate closely with the IOHK PMO on best practices and alignment with best practices.

Your expertise

  • Start-up/Innovation Scrum master or project management experience
  • Ability to set priorities and expectations
  • Qualification in Scrum master or equivalent
  • Knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of agile project management and scrum master
  • Knowledge of agile project management/scrum master techniques and tools
  • Direct work experience in project management capacity
  • Proven experience in people management
  • Proven experience in strategic planning
  • Proven experience in risk management
  • Proven experience in change management
  • Proficient in project management software (JIRA/Atlassian)
  • Strong experience in delivering Software projects
  • Understanding of digital ledger technology is a plus
  • Experience participating in innovation processes or in start-ups (eg: creating digital products from the very beginning)
  • Knowledge about Blockchain products/projects/industry and ideally hands-on experience on Blockchain projects/start-ups
  • Entrepreneurial and business mindset
  • Nice to have: experience in Innovation Labs/Incubator/Accelerator/VC or similar.

Location

IOG is a fully distributed organization and therefore this is a remote position. Due to team distribution we are ideally looking for someone in a US time zone for this role.
