DevOps Engineer (Blockchain)

W3bCloud is seeking an engineer with deep Data Center experience to configure, setup and monitor mining equipment and software on bare metal. Key Areas of Responsibility

• Deploy updates and fixes
• Build tools to reduce occurrences of errors and improve customer experience
• Develop software to integrate with internal back-end systems
• Perform root cause analysis for production errors
• Investigate and resolve technical issues
• Develop scripts to automate monitoring and visualization
• Design procedures for system troubleshooting and maintenance
• Building and setting up new development tools and infrastructure
• Understanding the needs of stakeholders and conveying this to developers
• Working on ways to automate and improve development and release processes
• Testing and examining code written by others and analyzing results
• Ensuring that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats
• Identifying technical problems and developing software updates and ‘fixes’
• Working with software developers and software engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended
• Planning out projects and being involved in project management decisions

What You’ll Need to be Successful

• Excellent communication skills, not afraid to push back and share ideas
• Experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar software engineering role
• Experience developing engineering applications for a large corporation/or startup
• Proficient with git and git workflows
• Good knowledge of Python and/or Golang
• Working knowledge of databases and SQL
• Data center design and operations
• Blockchain and Cryptocurrency experience
• Configuration management software (Ansible)
• Monitoring & metrics software (Prometheus, Grafana, Influxdb)
• Aggregated Logging (Filebeat, Logstash, Elasticsearch)
• Linux SysAdmin experience
• Self directed and comfortable with remote work environments
• Willing to pull-up your sleeves
• Working knowledge of Linux, Web 2.0 development platforms, solutions and related technologies. Understanding of DNS, TCP, firewalls, proxy servers, DMZ, VPN, VPC, networking setup and configuration.
