Product Owner (Governance) REMOTE

The future of cryptocurrency and blockchain technology depends on decentralized governance. IO Global, the blockchain engineering company that created Cardano, is looking for an experienced Product Owner to join the governance team. The role fits within the human processes squad, defining and improving the processes that are needed to support the effective governance of Cardano.

In this role, you will help build the future of decentralized governance by designing, implementing, and managing processes and systems to support governance and decision-making. You will be responsible for building and operating digital and blockchain-based collaboration tools for senior stakeholders. You will also evaluate the implications and tradeoffs of different governance structures and systems to define, analyze, and improve processes.

This role requires well-developed analytical and creative skills, a strong strategic and objective-driven mindset, and the maturity to interface with senior stakeholders.

Your mission

• Defining, analyzing, and improving processes for blockchain governance
• Evaluating implications and tradeoffs of different governance structures and systems
• Coordinating inputs from stakeholders ranging from executives to engineers to end users
• Synthesizing data and research into actionable insights that can be easily communicated to a non-technical audience
• Coordinating governance, including meetings of top-level decision-makers, implementing procedures, and documenting vote outcomes
• Operating and improving digital and blockchain-based collaboration tools for senior stakeholders
• Monitoring activity and creating reports.

Requirements

Your expertise

• Minimum of five years experience in product/project and/or governance-related roles
• Familiarity with agile frameworks and ways of working
• Some experience in ideation, innovation management, and facilitation is highly desirable
• Solid knowledge and understanding of community platforms/governance systems in crypto projects
• Understanding and experience of issue and crisis management
• Experienced and confident in data-driven approaches to governance
• Excellent writing and language skills (English)
• Good technical understanding (experience in blockchain and crypto technologies preferred)
• Experience in conflict resolution methodologies
• A degree in political science, business, economics, or a related field is preferred.
