What you’ll do as a Python Developer - Risk at Akuna:

Akuna Capital is looking for an experienced hands-on developer to join our growing Development Team and enhance our global compliance monitoring systems. The Compliance Development Team designs and operates the global systems and processes that observe and supervise our trading systems to ensure compliance with all local rules, laws, and regulations. We trade across multiple asset classes and geographies, and due to the scale and complexity of our environment, we rely heavily on automation. The ideal candidate will work closely with our Compliance and Market Data teams to design and build tools and automated data flows that provide transparency to the business and ensure the smooth running of our global trading operations. In this role, you will:

• Architect, design and implement enhancements for our global compliance monitoring systems, predominately using Python.
• Process live streams of market data in a decentralized, highly scalable system.
• Produce reports and alerting that are clear, timely, and actionable.
• Own assigned development tasks, writing clean and maintainable code and building large distributed systems.
• Collaborate with multiple teams to understand business problems, changing priorities, and devise technical solutions.

Qualities that make great candidates:

• 5+ years working with Python in a professional production environment
• Experience working with relational databases and SQL
• Experience with Kafka/Databricks/ClickHouse
• Experience with web development using React/Redux is a plus
• Experience working with Pandas is a plus
• Highly collaborative in nature, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Familiarity with the trading domain and finance is strongly preferred, but not required
• Proven ability to communicate with less technical users to understand requirements and design and implement appropriate solutions
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or equivalent
