About the role
As a team member of our FCA registered crypto asset business, you will join a team of crypto compliance experts to enhance our operations in the UK. You will support the Head of Compliance and Risk in ensuring strict adherence with applicable UK regulatory requirements and operational policies and procedures.
You will need to thoughtfully analyse regional policy matters and communicate their impact on the business to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will possess excellent oral and written communication skills, and should be able to clearly clarify how relevant UK Regulations together with the company compliance policies apply, while helping to drive compliant solutions.
This role is remote and can be based anywhere in the UK.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Head of Compliance and Risk and operational leadership team to help develop and implement Kraken’s compliance policies in the UK.
- Assist and deliver regulatory and controls mapping where applicable.
- Support the preparation and execution of the Compliance Monitoring Plan.
- Enhance the Compliance Monitoring Plan where needed and assist with the on-going implementation including escalation of the findings and work on the remedial plans.
- Support the development of required compliance policies, processes and procedures to fulfil regulatory obligations.
- Act as an internal subject matter expert and provide support for regulatory compliance issues across a range of internal functions and stakeholder groups.
- Support the review, analysis, and documentation for regulator responses to ongoing licensing activity and translate to actionable recommendations and next steps for the entity.
- Manage various inboxes and provide timely responses to all stakeholders.
- Support the implementation of the Vulnerable Customers framework and Consumer Duty-related projects.
Requirements
- 5+ years experience in a compliance role at a financial institution or equivalent (EMI preferred).
- Knowledge of the UK regulatory environment and specifically in EMRs, PSRs and MLRs.
- Understanding of the Guidance for firms on the fair treatment of Vulnerable Customers and Consumer Duty.
- Familiar with the process of on-site and thematic inspections conducted by regulatory authorities.
- Experience in the crypto asset space is preferredFamiliarity with anti-money laundering and know-your-customer best practices.
- Impeccable communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Attention to detail and exceptional organisational skills.
- Ability to take ownership of work product and consistently deliver results.
- Adaptability to global business needs.
- Ability to work in a rapidly changing regulatory environment.
