Database Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Implement and manage company data management practices and policies
• Install, tune, implement and upgrade DBMS installations (managed and self-hosted inside k8s)
• Assist with schema design, code review, SQL query tuning
• Configure database monitoring utilities to minimize false alarms
  • Monitor for deviation in baseline system performance, and advise on and execute improvements to slow-running queries
• Managing database backup procedures and disaster recovery aspects
• Write and deploy SQL patches
• Automate routine tasks to make sure application of the best practices and procedures
• Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy, and integrity
• Proactively and regularly make recommendations for system improvements

Requirements:

• Easily design and implement a business process into functional and efficient code
• Good understanding of data and schema standards and concepts
• Good understanding of database design, implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance
• Experience with programming languages such PL/SQL coding
• Experience in administering, managing, and tuning databases
• Experience with PostgreSQL or/and MySQL, InfluxDB, Redis, Kafka
• Experience with clusters orchestrators (Percona or Patroni) will be a plus
• Expertise in Linux
• Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on the company’s success
• Will be considered a plus experience with Kubernetes
• Will be considered as a plus experience with Ansible/Terraform/Terragrunt
