We’re looking for fintech enthusiasts to join us in creating the financial infrastructure of tomorrow. We’re building the first European Investment API to enable any financial institution to offer a broad range of investment products in their apps. Our view is backed by Europe's largest tech VCs (Earlybird, Notion Capital, Partech, HV Capital, ABN AMRO Ventures) by renowned fintech entrepreneurs (including Maximilian Tayenthal, founder of N26, and Felix Haas, founder of IDnow) and Bessemer Venture Partners in the USA.
We’re based in Berlin but would consider hiring remotely for this role. If you do want to move to Berlin though, we’re happy to support your relocation.

As Upvest enters the next stage of growth, we are looking for an Analytics/Business Intelligence (BI) Lead. The successful candidate will work directly with our CFO Julian Lange building out a relatively new function together with our data engineers:
What you will work on:
- Upvest is going live with our first (large) customers, so now is the time to define and track closely our key performance indicators (KPIs), especially when it comes to our product and commercial activities.
- Partner with all other departments across the company to support decision making by turning data into insights, e.g. which customers to focus on, what features to launch next, etc.
- Foster a data-driven culture through training, mentoring, and building a data community and resource at Upvest
- Turn our up-and-running BigQuery/Looker technical setup into a world-class data competency together with our team of experienced data engineers
- Help to hire and onboard junior data analysts and data scientists
What you can expect from this role:
- Build it the right way from the start: We have functioning tooling but the number of KPIs we’re tracking, dashboards and their usage are still fairly limited. So you will decide how we define, govern, visualise and use our data and metrics.

Role requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in core BI skills such as data analysis, data governance, and dashboarding; ideally in SQL and/or Python
- Excellent knowledge of data warehouse and visualisation tools, especially BigQuery and Looker
- You know how to build interpersonal relationships and can influence and lead cross-functional discussions and decisions for real business impact
- You are always looking to learn something new and are interested in the details
- You remain positive and solution focused and keep trying, even when facing challenges, something didn’t work the first time, or a mistake was made
- You have shown leadership skills in the past, ideally through formal management or also informal guidance of more junior colleagues
