Introduction
Here at Fnality, we are powering the future of finance, together: combining best in class technology with free-flowing creativity, and expertise that can make business better for everyone. There are no precedents for what we’re doing. With you on our side, we’ll be setting new ones every day.
In a complex world, we are here to bring clarity and make positive change.
Fnality Services is central to each Fnality Payment Systems’s (FnPS) effective and resilient operation and provides an efficient common service platform for the secure global delivery of settlement operations.
The Operational Testing Lead role:
Fnality Services is looking for a Operational Testing Lead who can demonstrate competencies which will enable them to successfully:
- Work in a fast-paced, regulated environment in the financial sector
- Plan and execute the entire testing process, including test optimization and improvement
- Communicate and work closely with colleagues in a remote setting, suggesting improvements and highlighting when communication is not at its optimum
- Encouraging a risk culture that is embedded in every policy and process of the company (Technology, Security, Personnel, Environment etc)
- Promoting an open and honest company culture, encouraging servant leadership as best practise within the organisation.
You will need to take accountability for:
- Designing, leading, documenting, scheduling and coordinating test scenarios, engaging with internal and external stakeholders to deliver robust and appropriate tests
- Bringing together various colleagues and teams to deliver against testing outcomes – we work in an Agile environment and this role will pull people in depending on capacity and capability required
- Writing the scripts required to run tests
- Leading on full end-to-end lifecycle of testing including business lead testing, product testing and operational testing
- Defining, developing, and performing acceptance tests as part of route to live (functional & non-functional tests) on software received from technology vendors
- Testing regular updates and releases across several environments including SIT, Pre-Production, Production. Including end to end testing and stress testing
- Running CHAPS Direct Participant testing including that of RTGS renewals at regular intervals in line with stated requirements
- Conducting SWIFT testing within MX environments
- Carrying out business process tests such as disaster recovery and business continuity, including backup and recovery validation.
Required competencies
The ideal candidate:
- Understands key and deep technical areas (blockchain products, blockchain wallets, regulated and systemically important payment systems etc.)
- Has experience running enterprise testing suites and what that entails in terms of enterprise level operations (enterprise change management, incident management, regulatory facing requirements and environment, enterprise/wholesale payments, etc).
- Has very strong stakeholder and relationship management experience, especially when it comes to external parties and regulators, always finding opportunities and use communication to demonstrate our strengths, properly explain our weaknesses, manage expectations, and the outcome ultimately is to build and maximise confidence in Fnality
- Has experience in application performance monitoring and event management
- Has experience working closely with customers (Tier 1 Banks, Central Banks, Regulators) on operational support issues and ensuring 24x7 availability of platforms
- Has an excellent understanding of payments and settlement in the traditional financial infrastructure
- Understands how CHAPS and High Value payment systems work
- Is competent in data, statistical and trend analysis
- Has a working knowledge of all tools required to monitor and manage a payment system
- Has a good understanding of how a payment system operates under stress and the market conditions that drive behaviours
- Has a good understanding of how cyclical events impact volumes such as Month/Quarter End Settlement
A bit more about us
Digital transformation is changing our lives, work and businesses. While other sectors evolve however, financial markets remain slow, fragmented and siloed. What the world needs now is a future-facing financial system for the digital age.
At Fnality, we have been speaking – and listening – to the real users of today’s financial systems. From businesses to banks, there is a clear, collective ambition for a simpler, faster, safer and more resilient payment system; one that can move and settle money quickly and efficiently, with minimised risk and much more transparency.
Fnality Global Payments
We are building a new payment system that will enable tokenised, peer-to-peer markets.
Fnality Global Payments (FnGP) will comprise a series of national systems, each regulated in its home jurisdiction. We call each of these a Fnality Payment System (FnPS)
In each payment system, a Fnality settlement asset will act as the settlement/payment asset for any Payment (P), Delivery v, Payment (DvP) or payment vs. payment (PvP) need.
FnGP are underpinned by Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT). The nature of DLT is such that it enables FnGP to:
- Operate a true peer-to-peer market
- Allow for immediate settlement
- Interoperate across business platforms and jurisdictions
The key benefits of the above are:
- Reduced counter-party and credit risk
- Reduced operational risk
- Efficient liquidity management
- An ability to move resources from risk mitigation to business growth
