IBC Product Marketing Specialist
Interchain is a young, ambitious, and values-led team working on the core blockchain technology of the Cosmos ecosystem - the Inter-blockchain Communication Protocol, IBC. We’re headquartered in Berlin, Germany, but some of our team members are located elsewhere in Europe. We keep in touch through Github, Slack, Discord, Telegram and Zoom, and meet in person periodically. All in all, the software we develop secures billions of dollars in value across many different systems, but we don’t take ourselves too seriously. We strive to build world-class software while having plenty of laughs along the way.
Position Summary
The product marketing specialist will have a deep understanding of the market, our customers, and our product (ibc-go - the Go implementation of the IBC protocol). The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies that promote new features to our target customers and raising awareness of IBC generally. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to coordinate marketing campaigns, not only to promote ibc-go, but IBC as a holistic product.

Accountabilities:
As a Product Marketing Specialist, you will be working to:
- Curate strategies to effectively communicate new features to our customers
- Develop product positioning and messaging that resonates with our target audience
- Identify channels to target to strategically raise awareness of IBC
- Support the development and execution of go-to-market marketing plans that drive demand for new IBC features
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, developer relations, and other core contributors to ensure the successful launch of new features
- Serve as a spokesperson for the company, effectively representing IBC in various settings such as podcasts, interviews, and public events
Required skills and experience:
- 2-3 years of experience in product marketing or a related field.
- Strong aptitude for comprehending complex multifaceted software and the unique benefits it provides for developers.
- Strong organizational skills to effectively communicate messaging across different development teams, and ensure that the right content is amplified for maximum impact.
- Proficiency in executing cross-channel campaigns across various mediums, including offline channels such as events and media, as well as online channels like Twitter, Discord, Telegram, and Reddit.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and own a content publishing calendar, ensuring that content is published consistently and aligns with overall marketing goals.
- Proven experience in effectively utilizing multi-channel marketing tools to reach target audiences and drive engagement across various platforms.
- Proven track record of developing successful go-to-market plans and launching products
- Strong understanding of marketing strategy and product positioning.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, across different organizations.
- Strong attention to detail in language and graphics to ensure that they are appropriate, effective, and aligned with IBC’s messaging and visual identity.
- The ability to track engagement to assess which marketing strategies are most effective.
- Self-disciplined and self-driven, this position will be granted a great deal of autonomy to accomplish the above listed accountabilities but will be embedded within the product team.
Nice To Have
- Previously worked closely with layer 1 and/or layer 2 protocols
- Experience in product marketing roles within open-source software
- Familiarity with the Cosmos ecosystem and IBC
