Product Designer (USA)

About the Role

As a Product Designer, you will primarily focus on the user-facing side of CoinDesk.com with your work directly impacting the experience for millions of our monthly users around the world. You will transform complex initiatives into intuitive, accessible and elegant experiences for our global audience, from the first-time user to the sophisticated investor. To achieve this, you’ll need to bring a user-centric mindset, solid design thinking, unyielding demand for consistency and standards, and close collaboration with a multidisciplinary group of internal partners to see your visions come to life.

This is a full-time permanent position based in the United States reporting to our Director of Product Design.

What You’ll Do:

• Work cross-functionally with design, product, engineering, marketing and editorial teams throughout the product life cycles
• Participate across all phases of the design process including wire-framing, prototyping, user testing, engineering handoff and QA
• Clearly and confidently present your designs and communicate your thought process across all functions and levels throughout the product checkpoints
• Ensure design consistency across all products by utilizing, contributing to and internally evangelizing our core design system
• Turn complex and ambiguous business challenges into simple, accessible and elegant design solutions
• Use qualitative and quantitative data when available to inform design decisions
• Be a strong internal advocate for the user while delivering on business objectives

Some Projects You’ll Contribute To:

• Reimagining the editorial reading experience, which directly impacts the majority of our site traffic and core business
• Improving and building upon our design system in lockstep with our front end engineering team
• Overhauling our site foundations (grids, page templates, components, etc.) with a componentized, modular and mobile-first approach
• Holistically reevaluating the branding strategies of our various franchises into a unified brand family
• Additional Zero to One products and experiences as we plan our 2H product roadmap

About You

• 3+ years of UX/UI/product design experience, preferably in digital media publishing
• Proficiency with design and prototyping tools such as Figma and Adobe CC
• Direct experience working with and maintaining design systems and filJD le management
• Fundamental experience with HTML and CSS
• A familiarity with analytical and user research tools such as Google Analytics, HotJar and UserTesting
• Excellent time management skills while balancing simultaneous tasks
• Comfort working autonomously on ambiguous projects
• A proactive approach to identifying opportunities and acting upon them
• A strong voice and advocacy for the design thinking process with internal partners
• A passion for the details but with an ability to see the big picture (see the forest from the trees)
• An inspiring portfolio or presentation telling a story of design thinking and demonstrating your ability to deliver simple, usable and modern typography, interactions and visual design

CoinDesk Inc and CoinDesk Indices Inc. are committed to offering competitive compensation and benefits. The anticipated base salary for this position is $100,000 - $132,500 + discretionary annual target bonus + benefits. Offered salary may vary by geographic location, including city and state, and will be reflective of job related knowledge, skills and commensurate experience.
