BitPay builds powerful tools for accepting, storing, and spending cryptocurrency securely.

BitPay is seeking a talented freelance writer to join our team and produce compelling content centered around cryptocurrency and blockchain technology, as well as upcoming product capabilities. As a freelance writer, you will craft and refine informative, captivating articles to cater to our ever-growing user base, ensuring your copy is clear, concise, and comprehensive.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with the BitPay Marketing team to develop new educational and informational content. You should have a working understanding of cryptocurrencies, blockchain technology, and the finance industry. You are a diligent researcher and can answer not only the what, but also why, how, and what may lie ahead.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, write, proofread, and edit engaging educational content
• Adhere to BitPay's writing and voice guidelines
• Efficiently manage deadlines for multiple upcoming projects
• Be available to take on new projects
• Initially, you will work on 3-4 new articles per month, with the possibility of increased workload over time

Requirements:

• Possess a minimum of 2 years' experience in writing content for a large audience, preferably within the tech/finance industry
• Ability to convey complex and technical subjects in a simple and understandable manner for all readers
• Display a comprehensive understanding of cryptocurrency and blockchain technology
• Demonstrate mastery of the English language as a writer/editor
• Exhibit immaculate attention to detail in your work
• Previous experience publishing crypto/blockchain/finance materials is preferred
• Possess strong organizational and communication skills
• Consistently meet deadlines and manage time effectively
• Capability to build and maintain working relationships with internal and external teams

Nice to Haves:

• A track record of contributing to notable crypto publications or products
• Basic understanding and implementation of SEO best practices, including keywords, internal links, and topic structure
• Comfortable with drafting content in content management systems

Our ideal candidate will provide writing samples that showcase their ability to create educational content on technical or complex topics. Submissions lacking writing samples will not be considered.
