Sr UI Engineer

The Sandbox is looking to incorporate an experienced Sr. UI Engineer to work on our blockchain based gaming platform.

As a UI Engineer, you’ll help with the implementation of new core UI systems. You’ll also maintain, improve and optimize existing systems, making sure they’re network compatible and artists friendly.

You’ll collaborate with the art team, game designers and other engineers to create and improve the UI/UX of the Game and Game Maker tool.

Responsibilities:

• Implement new UI systems and features.
• Optimize and bug-fixing existing UI systems.
• Work with UI/UX Design and directors to understand the needs of the game.
• Ensure that the systems are well designed and optimal in terms of CPU and memory consumption.
• Create and executing long-term development plans and technical documentation.
• Follow best practices, development processes, documentation, and coding standards.

• Degree in computer science/information technology or relevant professional experience.
• 3+ years of experience in the game industry.
• Senior UI Engineer 2
• Deep understanding of data structures and 3D math.
• Understanding of data-oriented paradigm.
• Deep knowledge of C# and/or C/C++.
• Multi-threaded programming skills.
• Strong attention to detail and quality.
• Able to work in a collaborative and distributed development environment with excellent time-management, organization, and communication skills.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience with Unity’s UI framework.
• Experience with Unity and its new Data Oriented Technology Stack (DOTS).
• Experience working in hardware-constrained scenarios (consoles or mobile).
