Associate Litigation Counsel - EU/UK

This is a fully remote role.

Duties

• Assist in all aspects of litigation, including discovery, case preparation, tracking and communication of case-related dates and information, and the review and preparation of documents, reports and correspondence
• Broad knowledge of commercial disputes and some experience in setting case strategy, managing discovery/e-discovery/records
• Advise the company on GDPR, CCPA and other privacy laws
• Advise the company on strategic compliance with 5AMLD, MiFiD and ECB regulations
• Manage relationships with outside counsel, directing strategy for litigation
• Advise executives and senior management on claims and defenses as well as the avoidance and effective resolution of disputes
• Direct court proceedings, arbitrations, mediations and depositions

Requirements

• Admission to practice law in the UK or a European Union member state
• 3+ years of of relevant experience litigating financial services and privacy matters, whether in-house or at a top law firm
• Litigation experience must include GDPR, CCPA and other privacy laws as well as strategic compliance with 5AMLD, MiFiD and ECB regulations
• A demonstrated passion for cryptocurrency
• A proactive, entrepreneurial mindset
• An opportunity-making attitude, using the law to increase the company’s optionality, not decrease it
