Data visualization engineer- Cryptowatch (Remote)

This role is fully remote.

Help us scale Cryptowatch, Kraken's professional charting and trading platform. Cryptowatch has grown organically from a tiny weekend project to a popular, real-time cryptocurrency charting and trading platform which people rely on all over the world. We are seeking talented individuals to help take our data visualization libraries to the next level. There's rarely a boring day in crypto, and we're looking for people who want to be part of this exciting ecosystem!

Responsibilities

• Create performant, reusable tools for charting and data visualization
• Write optimized code that works across current versions of all major browsers
• Develop efficient and complex user interfaces with React and Redux
• Think through edge cases and unexpected user interactions to develop a robust UX
• Architect forward-thinking structures that ease future feature expansion

Requirements

• Experience with drawing and animation in HTML5 canvas, SVG, D3, or similar tech
• Experience using developer tools to debug and profile JavaScript code
• Experience working with REST and WebSocket APIs
• Ability to collaborate with remote developers, designers, product managers
• Fluency in TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML 5, CSS, React, Redux

A strong candidate will also:

• An eye for visual balance and harmony
• Experience with Web Workers or WebAssembly (WASM)
• Experience or interest in Rust
• Experience with WebGL and/or related libraries like three.js
• Experience working with large datasets
