Senior Data Engineer

Nansen is a blockchain analytics platform that enriches on-chain data with millions of wallet labels. Crypto investors use Nansen to discover opportunities, perform due diligence, and defend their portfolios with our real-time dashboards and alerts.

The successful candidate will preferably be located in the EMEA or APAC timezone.

The Opportunity:

As a Senior Data Engineer at Nansen you will play a key role in architecting and scaling our data infrastructure to meet the growing demands of crypto investors. Your work will directly impact our product's performance, reliability, and capability, ensuring that solidify Nansen's position as a leader in blockchain analytics.

You will work with cutting-edge technologies and tackle some of the most challenging and exciting problems in data at the intersection of finance and technology.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and optimization of our data pipelines, databases and systems for serving data to our customers, ensuring scalability, efficiency, and reliability.
• Work in close collaboration with product engineers and analysts to design and implement robust data models
• Drive innovation by staying updated with the latest in data engineering practices, tools, and technologies, applying them to solve complex business and data challenges.
• Mentor and guide junior data engineers, fostering a culture of excellence, continuous learning and knowledge sharing within the team.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to align data engineering initiatives with business objectives and customer needs.

Requirements:

• A proven track record of building and scaling high-performance data systems
• Excellent SQL and Python skills, familiarity with dbt and JS
• Experience with modern cloud-based database technologies for both batch and streaming workloads (e.g. ClickHouse, BigQuery)
• An ability to work full-stack with data; software engineering and data visualisation skills a big plus
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a remote work environment across multiple time zones.
• Strong interest in database internals and streaming pipelines, as well as the logical organisation of information in data warehouses.
• A passion for blockchain, crypto, and Web3 technologies.
