Head of Risk (f/m/d)

As our future Head of Risk & Deputy AML Officer you will take full ownership of all risk-related topics on our ambitious journey to open up the financial world of securities trading and ensure we will have a solid risk framework in place to enable our business to grow securely. Furthermore, you will represent Upvest as Deputy AML Officer and be a contact person to the BaFin.

This role will give you the opportunity to:

• Design and implement an overall risk management concept according to BaFin and MaRisk requirements, in order to identify current and potential risks affecting Upvest
• Be Upvest's official Deputy AML Officer
• Set up the risk frameworks and execute the monitoring of operational, counterparty and liquidity risk in addition to developing the process landscape
• Mitigate operational, business and reputational risks and advise the senior management on the various risk scenarios
• Be responsible for risk inventory and stress testing of risk scenarios

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in business continuity and risk management, preferably in a modern bank that works with security trading
• English and German fluency (both written and spoken)
• Understanding of AML
• Prior experience implementing MaRisk concepts is a plus
