Financial Controller

The Finance and Accounting group manages all aspects of our finances and serves as trusted advisors for all our strategic and enterprise endeavors. Along with managing compilation of our financial statements, looking after our cash and overseeing compliance, we partner closely with the business in overseeing company wide resource allocation, developing cutting edge compensation initiatives and generating detailed financial analyses to drive the business forward. We also develop advanced capital strategies to support the company’s short- and long-term future.

As ConsenSys’ Financial Controller you will support the Director Accounting and Tax (Group Controller). You’re motivated to put your finance/controlling skills to work towards our mission of building a blockchain software and services company.

The position of controller at ConsenSys would be accountable for the general accounting operations of companies in the EMEA region (and assist with reporting to the US parent company), including but not limited to:

• General ledger accounting and bookkeeping, you will have support of a shared accountant but will be responsible for ensuring all transactions are posted.
• Production of periodic financial reports, multi-currency accounting and translation of financial accounts as necessary.
• Responsible for VAT return preparation and filing.
• Ensure that reported results comply with local generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards.
• Prepare yearly audit schedules and manage the compliance process with our local accountancy advisors.
• Assist with preparing and filing corporate income tax related local yearly tax filing.
• Assist in building controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk.
• Enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results.

The candidate should have a qualified (CA, OEC, CPA) certification or qualified by experience as a Controller (5 years minimum in a Controller position). English language fluency required. Strong US-GAAP experience is important. Netsuite experience would be a plus.

This position requires extensive stakeholder management and strong communication capabilities to interact with finance and non-finance personnel. You must be a relationship-driven and who is able to help strengthen the relationship between finance and the multiple business units. This position requires someone who is able to work in a decentralized work environment, Independent problem-solving skills are core to this position. The candidate is able and prefers to work with a high level of autonomy and self-management. This position requires someone who is able to work in a decentralized work environment and from a home office or shared work space.
