Banking Counsel

This is a remote role for an attorney admitted to practice law in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Comprehensive counsel to Kraken and America’s first Digital Asset bank
• Advise Kraken on the application of the rules of the Federal Reserve Board, FFIEC, CFPB, FinCEN, OFAC, Wyoming Treasurer and State Banking Supervisor, together with other applicable banking laws
• Represent the company before bank regulators in the US and globally
• Create and review internal regulated processes
• Lead bank legislative advocacy and policy efforts
• Guide new product creation in situ with the product and strategy teams
• Report directly to the Chief Legal Officer

Requirements

• Demonstrated passion for crypto
• A proactive, entrepreneurial mindset
• An opportunity-making attitude, using the law to increase the company’s optionality, not decrease it
• At least ten years of relevant experience applying banking laws, whether in-house or at a top law firm
• Admission to practice law in the United States
