We are looking for a business development professional with a passion for driving the adoption of distributed ledger technology in support of central bank digital currencies to lead our CBDC Business Development efforts. This role will be responsible for identifying opportunities to collaborate with Central Banks and other public agencies to develop CBDCs on Celo by securing participation in pilot projects, sandboxes, proofs of concept and other similar programs. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of blockchain technology and the ability to clearly convey technical concepts to public sector audiences with varying degrees of sophistication. You Will:
- Identify opportunities to develop CBDCs on Celo by tracking relevant projects, research and industry developments
- Manage and prioritize pipeline of development opportunities with internal stakeholders.
- Directly engage with Central Banks and other public sector agencies developing CBDC pilots, sand boxes and proofs of concept
- Develop strong relationships with central bankers and their technology partners and educate this ecosystem of players in CBDCs
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders in developing a CBDC strategy
- Develop presentations showcasing the use of Celo for prospective public sector partners
- Collaborate with functional groups across the organization, including but not limited to Product, Engineering, Marketing, Communications, Compliance and Legal
- Manage deal flow, and structure/negotiate agreements with prospective partners
- Coordinate and drive project execution across a cross-functional team, by building strong relationships internally, and through excellent communication and project management
You Have:
- 7+ years in enterprise technology sales or account management; experience selling to large financial institutions or central banks. Global sales experience is strongly preferred
- Deep knowledge of the global payments system, including the infrastructure supporting domestic and cross-border payments
- A strong interest in and understanding of the ability of blockchain technology to achieve international financial policy goals, including financial inclusion
- Ability to develop the trust of central bank executives and influencers
- Familiarity with public sector procurement and contracting processes
- Strong oral and written communication with the ability to explain complex public policy issues in a language that can be understood by government officials, policymakers, and the general public
- Strong organization skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in languages other than English is a plus
