Lead QA Engineer - Tallinn or Remote in GMT+1, +2, +3

Ultra is looking for a dynamic Lead QA Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will lead our effort to design, develop and execute exploratory and automated (functional and technical) tests to ensure the highest product quality. You will create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases, you will debug, define corrective actions, review system requirements and track quality assurance metrics. Working together with the dev teams and product managers, you will help us deliver the best experience to all our users.

You are passionate about delivering high product quality and great user experience. You are organized, with attention to detail, self-driven, you can multi-task and are a team player with good communication skills. You constantly strive for improvement, you like to share your knowledge and remain updated on the most recent methods and technologies.

Key Requirements

• You are located in GMT +1 ; +2 ; +3
• You have led a QA team in a startup environment before
• Significant technical QA testing experience, solid knowledge in QA methodologies and techniques
• Strong ability to automate functional and technical end-to-end tests
• Significant experience testing REST and GraphQL APIs in microservices architecture
• Previous experience with Postman, Protractor
• Strong ability to strategize, plan, execute during different testing phases and mitigate any issues
• Ability to multi-task, self-driven, organised, team oriented
• Agile team experience
• Fluency in English, with great written and spoken language skills

It's great if you also have:

• Previous automation test development experience, in JavaScript and / or TypeScript
• Previous exposure to Kibana, Docker, Websocket, Jira, Confluence
• Extensive knowledge in different testing techniques and methodologies
• Domain expertise in the video game industry, in the blockchain industry

Your Challenges:

• You will work with staff & entities all around the world, and collaborating with them will be part of your daily routine
• Ultra could be considered as a multitude of smaller sub-projects, each having its own team leader. Your ability to advise and collaborate with multiple sub-teams simultaneously will define our project's success
• The Ultra platform is innovative: your determination to achieve high quality will help us deliver the best experience to all our users

What you will do

• Collaborate with the entire R&D teams at Ultra to lead the testing strategy
• Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases
• Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate quality testing activities
• Review quality specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
• Automate functional and technical tests
• Report and document technical issues
• Identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs
• Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved
• Liaise with internal teams (e.g. developers and product owner) to identify system requirements
• Monitor debugging process results
• Investigate the causes of non-conforming software and train users to implement solution
• Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts
