Copywriter / Content Writer (DLT)

As a Copy Writer / Content writer for DLT related topics you will be responsible for managing the creation and editing written content throughout the IOTA Foundation website, blog, social channels, public relations and marketing communication channels.

The topics you will be covering all relate to distributed ledger technology and require an ability to express differences between IOTA and other DLT’s/blockchains. You will be asked to interpret and translate specific and often very technical and complex technological aspects into captivating stories in order to explain them to an audience with less technical expertise.

When it comes to research and development of technical solutions that very few people have touched upon, as is the case with IOTA and its underlying technological principles, you will not be able to rely on a vast amount of material or resources but will have to talk directly to our engineers and researchers in order to gain information enabling you to make your own deductions. At least a basic understanding and knowledge in the field of distributed ledger technology, blockchain, cryptography and their differences is therefore absolutely necessary for this position. We certainly don’t expect you to be an expert but please don’t apply for this position if you aren’t e.g. able to explain to us what DLT’s or cryptocurrencies you personally are interested in and what their most notable differences are.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, own and maintain copywriting style guide and rules that can be applied to multiple formats across marketing channels
• Write and edit copy (for on-page SEO, website pages, blog content, promotional materials and more) that is on brief, on time, and effectively engages the target audience and conveys the brand
• Proofread all marketing, advertising, social media and editorial content to ensure accurate use of grammar, sentence structure, spelling and brand voice

Requirements

Your Personality

• Self-driven individual who takes responsibility for projects from their inception
• Ability, desire, and dedication to pick up new platforms or technologies as well as improve in existing ones

Your Expertise

• Basic knowledge of distributed ledgers, blockchain and cryptography
• 5+ years of experience working with a creative / marketing / PR agency or directly for a tech brand, especially within a start-up environment
• Previous copywriting and copyediting experience
• Experience in script writing
• Demonstrated experience producing SEO-oriented copy for tech company
• Exceptional writing, editing and communication skills (including a command of AP style, excellent grasp of grammar, syntax, and punctuation, sharp editing skills and fluency in proofreading for tone, structure, accuracy)
• Experience in creating, adapting, and iterating marketing messages across multiple digital channels

Plus:

• Experience understanding technology/experience with distributed ledger technology or blockchain/Internet of Things is a plus
• “Headlining" and advertising experience is a plus
• Native English proficiency is a plus
