ShapeShift is seeking a People Operations Specialist to assist in the day-to-day People Operations for this growing organization. The People Operations Specialist will assist in driving initiatives for human resources functions such as employment coordination, performance management, employee engagement, personnel file management, and, benefits administration. The ideal candidate will possess strong organization, time management, communication, and administrative skills. This position offers a unique opportunity to grow your professional skills in Human Resources in a fintech startup within the crypto space. We are looking for someone who can wear multiple hats and is ambitious and passionate about everything people-related!
This is a full-time position, based in Denver, Colorado, and reports to the Director of People Operations.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Provide backup/guidance to the People Operations team in responding to emails in the people operations email and Slack channel to ensure extraordinary customer service to employees and leaders at ShapeShift
- Maintain appropriate level of process, program, and policy knowledge in order to assist team members
- Program management including rollout, communication, reporting, and metrics of Organizational health, Engagement Survey, DIB related surveys, 360 feedback cycle, and Performance
- Intake of questions, complaints, and concerns
- Identify automation opportunities for all People Operations tasks and iterate on manual administrative processes
- Proactively identify process inefficiencies and inconsistencies and collaborate towards an improved and more productive process that improves the employee and/or manager’s experience
- Announcing changes and improvements in Slack channels
- Engagement survey administration, implementation and reporting
- Complete ad-hoc projects, reporting, and tasks
- The main POC for all administrative tasks across People/HR initiatives
- Manage the on-boarding process from offer acceptance to first week and beyond, ensuring each new hire is set up for success, all issues are resolved quickly, and has a smooth, simple, and pleasant experience
- Be a key stakeholder in the off-boarding and termination process following established company procedures and making suggestions for improvement
- Own HR Information Systems and all relevant documentation, updates, and personnel file creation and management, ensuring the confidentiality, accuracy, security and timely maintenance of People data
- Culture Ambassador: measure and represent culture and core values to all incoming, current, and exiting employees
- Benefits administration: kickoff, termination, and acting as the main POC/liaison for benefits questions and concerns
- Act as the day to day point of contact ensuring all employees have timely and accurate information relating to people processes, policies, procedures, and benefits
- Assist in employee engagement and development initiatives by sending out surveys, coordinating lunch and learns, assisting in events, and maintaining a positive work environment that encourages the full use of diverse talents and abilities
- Compile and analyze HR/people data and prepare monthly reports
- Create an environment of positive employee relations by respecting confidentiality, establishing trust and credibility, being seen by employees as approachable and fair, balancing business needs with employee needs
- Maintain clean, tidy, comfortable and efficient office environment
- Organize events, travel planning, coordinate meetings, errands, team outings, holiday parties, and other fun activities
- Support recruiting with scheduling interviews and providing a great candidate experience
- Troubleshoot in-office issues and work with the team to resolve.
- Manage Office Vendor relationships
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE
- 3+ years of related experience, Bachelor’s Degree
- Experience at a growth-stage tech company is preferred
- Prior experience in an HR or People Operations role a plus
- Familiarity with HR information systems, payroll software, applicant tracking systems, benefits enrollment software, background check software, and LinkedIn
