Pantera is hiring an Accounting Associate to support the management companies. The ideal candidate will have experience with the full accounting cycle, including accounts payable processing, compiling and reviewing financial information, preparing financial paperwork, and maintaining records. This role will also assist with general administrative tasks. This role requires presence at least three days a week in our San Juan office.
Responsibilities
- Review, process, and record vendor invoices, employee expense reports, and other accounting transactions accurately and timely
- Assist with monthly close activities, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and financial reporting support
- Perform bank, cash, prepaid, and balance sheet reconciliations across multiple entities and systems
- Track outstanding payables, payment support, and cash activity
- Work with large data sets and assist with consolidating accounting data across multiple systems and reports
- Maintain and understand general ledgers for management companies and related entities
- Assist with quarterly financial reporting, reconciliations, and other accounting functions
- Research and help resolve accounting discrepancies and reconciliation differences with guidance from the management team members
- Support annual audits, tax return preparation, and informative returns
- Assist with ad hoc accounting and operational projects as assigned while taking ownership and support operational needs across multiple areas when needed
Excel & Data Skills
Experience working with:
- Pivot Tables
- XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP
- SUMIF/SUMIFS
- Data cleanup and consolidation
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
- Fluency in English; Spanish is a plus
- 2–5 years of accounting experience in public accounting firms and/or private companies
- Strong understanding of accounting operations, accrual methodology, and U.S. GAAP
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Able to identify situations and escalate to their manager
- Proactive mindset with the ability to identify issues and take initiative
- Ability to prioritize, manage multiple responsibilities, and work in a fast-paced environment with accuracy and timeliness
- Strong technical skills in Excel and NetSuite or similar accounting software
- Able to work independently and collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to support accounting and operational processes
