Senior Product Manager

ShapeShift is seeking a Senior Product Manager to be a key leader in building a product roadmap for this growing organization. The Senior Product Manager will be a central hub within our company for critical information about our products, market, competitors, customers, prospects, key industry analysis and many other constituencies. The ideal candidate will possess the need to continually gather and analyze data and business intelligence from internal and external stakeholders and use this data to inform the evolution of the product roadmap. This position offers a unique opportunity to help drive the vision for the next generation of crypto tools for customer financial sovereignty.

This is a full-time, exempt position, based in Denver, Colorado and reports to the Director of Product.

GOALS OF POSITIONS

• Work daily with Engineering, Design and Operations teams to ensure product and back-end functionality needs are consistently met.
• Work daily with Marketing to coordinate new product and feature releases
• Communicating and training ShapeShift co-workers on new products and features before they are released
• Keep a backlog of opportunities for your product that is driven by customer needs, discovering and understanding the problems they are having and working with your teams and customers to deliver a solution that solves real problems.
• Use data to drive decisions about specific features and functionality, with the ability to quickly explain to technical or non-technical coworkers the reasoning behind your decisions.
• Motivate engineers and coworkers to suggest and discuss their ideas, problems, and thoughts about the project in order to create hypotheses about how to move forward, then prove or disprove the hypothesis with data.
• Help mentor and train new Product Team members
• Break big problems down into constituent parts.
• Know where your team is on their roadmap/timeline.

SUCCESS METRICS OF POSITIONS

• Efficient operations and timely product delivery.
• On time delivery of shipping products, data, tools, and services, both to internal and external customers.
• Features developed include metrics collection to inform new product decisions.
• All your decisions are data-driven and supported by the data and research you’ve collected.

JOB SKILLS

• Experience in Product Management, preferably with professional experience in end-customer focused API Driven SaaS companies.
• Thorough understanding Agile methodologies for streamlining projects, prioritization, and communication.
• Must be able to handle yourself well with passionate and opinionated engineers, customers, and partners.
• Ability to set a strategic roadmap for your product and change course as needed, making sure to stay aligned with business goals and customer needs. This includes being able to prioritize urgent items, emergency items, and project work.
• Work across multiple teams with ease, making sure to keep the other teams up to date on schedules, features, and training. You should be comfortable bringing other teams into conversations in order to utilize their expertise and experience to influence decisions.
• Embody a user-drive approach on past products and projects.
• Ability to work independently, enthusiastically, and creatively.
• Proven flexibility during periods of rapid growth, with ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing environment.
• Demonstrated leadership ability and potential for future growth.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE

• 4 year college degree (BS/BA or equivalent) in a related field or industry
• 5+ years of product management experience, working closely with high functioning engineering teams
• Experience in an Agile/Scrum environment with a track record of working well with designers, developers, testers, marketing, and executives

• Have a proven track record of product launches

• Be entrepreneurial, driven, and passionate

BONUS ATTRIBUTES

• Demonstrated knowledge or extreme interest in cryptocurrency and blockchain technologies
• Familiarity with financial markets, terminology and exchange platforms
• Experience with data visualization tools

REQUIRED TRAVEL

Occasional travel to conferences and other such events to represent and support company efforts, should be less than 5% of overall time.
