We are a non-hierarchical and globally distributed team looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to manage and evolve the infrastructure supporting our Layer-0 Timechain and rapidly growing DApp ecosystem, including Firestarter and Zenswap.

In this role, you will own the end-to-end deployment, scaling, and monitoring of our blockchain and DApp infrastructure, ensuring uptime, observability, and security. You will work closely with a transitioning DevOps lead (45-day handover period) to ensure smooth onboarding into our infrastructure environment.

What You'll Do

  • Infrastructure Setup & Deployment: Architect, provision, and manage blockchain and application infrastructure across products like Timechain, Firestarter, and Zenswap.
  • Provisioning & Automation: Use tools like Terraform to automate infrastructure provisioning. Leverage Docker and Kubernetes to build scalable and maintainable systems.
  • Observability & Monitoring: Set up and maintain observability stacks using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and Loki. Ensure alerts, logs, and metrics are always actionable.
  • CI/CD Pipelines: Build and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines for DApps and smart contract deployments, ensuring rapid iteration and high-quality releases.
  • Security & Compliance: Harden infrastructure against vulnerabilities. Enforce best practices for secrets management, firewalls, role-based access, and compliance with relevant standards.
  • Product Support & Upkeep: Ensure smooth uptime, scaling, and infrastructure updates for Timechain, Firestarter, and Zenswap environments.
  • Governance Participation: Collaborate on operational components of our on-chain governance systems, especially where DevOps practices intersect with protocol upgrades or validator tooling.
  • Collaboration & Documentation: Work alongside developers, architects, and product leads to ensure deployment requirements are met. Maintain accurate documentation of systems, procedures, and architecture.

Who You Are

  • 5+ years of DevOps/SRE experience, including blockchain infrastructure.
  • Proven expertise with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform) and Kubernetes orchestration in production environments.
  • Hands-on experience deploying and maintaining multi-component DApps, ideally in EVM ecosystems.
  • Strong familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Loki).
  • Strong scripting and automation skills (e.g., Bash, Python).
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD workflows using tools like GitHub Actions or similar.
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, GCP) and container registries.
  • Experience with blockchain protocols (Polkadot/Substrate preferred); ability to manage node deployments and upgrades.
  • Bonus: Knowledge of Substrate, Solidity, or other smart contract languages.
  • Bonus: Familiarity with governance and voting frameworks in decentralized networks.

Nice to Have

  • Previous contributions to Layer 1 or Layer 0 protocols.
  • Hands-on development experience in blockchain technologies (e.g., Solidity, Rust, Substrate).
  • Experience with EVM-based tools like Hardhat, Foundry, or Wagmi.
  • Exposure to Base, Polygon, or other L2 ecosystems.
  • Past experience working in a startup or remote-first environment.
