Director of DeFi - Fully Remote - Based Anywhere

W3BCLOUD is looking to add a DeFi expert to the team, the role will take full end-to-end responsibility for identifying, strategizing and investing into DeFi protocols and defining key product roadmaps. We are looking for a financial expert with an interest in DeFi, market making and crypto trading. Working closely with the existing team you will provide direction and access to the wider ecosystem through established relationships in the Blockchain and DeFi space.

Key Areas of Responsibility

• Develop market-leading expertise on DeFi as a category, and on individual cryptoassets and dapps, including Uniswap, Aave, Synthetix, Maker, DEXs, Yearn, Balancer and other DeFi-specifc blockchains and dapps
• Research deep technical aspects of DeFi projects across different blockchains. Ability to read and easily understand technical whitepapers
• Recommend and execute lucrative yield-enhancement opportunities from established DeFi and emerging DeFi protocols across blockchains
• Participate in all of the DeFi protocol communication channels - discord, telegram, twitter, etc. to enhance knowledge of, stay up to date on and build relationships with DeFi projects
• Provide insight and expert knowledge to the the team in regards to DeFi Protocols and Development Team needs
• Ability to create and demonstrate Risk and Economic Models to key stakeholders
• Build relationships with key leaders, protocols and teams in DeFi/NFT and L2 protocols
• Define and track KPI’s for DeFi applications (such as Revenue Growth, Price-to-Earnings ratio, Price-to-Burn ratio, Total Value Locked, etc.)
• Identify opportunities in the traditional financial system (lending/borrowing, insurance, derivatives, asset management, etc.) that could be disrupted by blockchain technology.
• Plan, grow and lead all people duties of the DeFi Function, inclusive of attraction, retention and development
• Draft presentations and reports for board and shareholder as required

Requirements

What You’ll Need to be Successful

• Minimum 5+ years in the DeFi/Fintech space in a key role
• Strong knowledge of the blockchain and DeFi space with previous experience in the Fintech/traditional finance systems sectors.
• Must have experience interacting with DeFi protocols - lending, staking, trading, yield farming, investing in tokens, governance, etc.
• Must understand blockchain basics: transactions, wallets, smart contracts, double spend, transactions pool, mining
• IT or financial background, degree in Computer Science or Financial Analysis preferred
• Proven Technical understanding of DeFi products and protocols
• Established relationships with Vendors, Partners and Knowledge leaders in the industry
• Previous experience managing a team inclusive of tasks such as recruitment, training, and engagement
• Experience working with collaboration tools such as Airtable, Slack, Telegram, and Zoom
• Autonomous in taking ownership and at the same time team player
• Detail-oriented and highly organized
• Preferred, Product management experience in software or fintech company.
