Graphic Design Intern

As a Graphic Design Intern at The Block, you will be responsible for helping produce high-quality imagery and graphics attached to content across The Block’s products. This includes, but is not limited to Feature Images for articles, data visualizations, promotional graphics for social media, and images for presentation decks.

Your goal will be to contribute to a consistent look and feel for The Block’s content to signify to the users that the content they are reading is uniquely from The Block. We don’t just settle for regular stock imagery for our content. Customizing imagery is at the core of what differentiates our brand visually.

You will work closely with the Art Director who will provide mentorship and support while producing graphics for the content that we publish day-to-day. You will also have an opportunity to propose new ideas and influence the look and feel of the brand by participating in weekly creative share and mood board sessions.

There will be two review cycles with your team that will help guide you on your career path as a Graphic Designer. There is an opportunity for our interns to transition to full-time by contributing to our culture of continual improvement, transparent collaboration and building high-quality products.

You Will

• Help define the visual language of The Block’s content
• Create imagery that engages the readers across the website and social platforms
• Have conversations with editors and analysts to best communicate the proposed content
• Responding to image requests from Editorial team
• Clearly communicate progress across the Product & Engineering and Editorial teams
• Be creative in solving problems
• Work with team managers on creative prioritization and career development opportunities
• Contribute to the culture of quality, healthy collaboration and leading by example

Must Have

• Experience using Photoshop, Indesign, and Illustrator
• Ability to carry out work from concept to production
• Distinct use of color and image selection/manipulation
• Experience working in a collaborative environment
• Positive attitude with regards to feedback and critiques

Good to Have

• A strong portfolio of previous graphic design work
• Background or education in Graphic Design
• Experience working with typography, 3D, and Video
• Interest in digital assets, crypto, and blockchain technologies
