Metaplex is a permissionless on-chain protocol for buying, selling and auctioning non-fungible tokens (NFTs) natively on the Solana blockchain. Launched this summer with partners RAC, Street Dreams, and CryptoKickers, the protocol established early product-market-fit, and is well-capitalized. Metaplex dramatically lowers minting and transaction fees and is a platform for independent NFT marketplaces. Along with the on-chain protocol, an open-source application framework can be fully customized, self-hosted and extended without passing through a centralized authority. Metaplex empowers creators and brands to build a direct relationship with their audiences.
As a close partner to Product, Design, and Business Development, the Product Marketing & Growth Lead will play a critical role in executing on the company vision. This individual will be responsible for developing value-based communications and marketing materials for NFT creators, as well as developing and executing growth strategies to bring attention to these storefronts.
In this role you will...
- Lead Product Marketing
- Define Growth Marketing for Metaplex
- Direct the allocation of capital resources for paid growth initiatives
- Work closely with the Design, Product, Engineering, and Business Development leads
- Lead the definition of product marketing strategy, coordination, and execution of cross-functional initiatives with timely and high-quality launches.
- Own and manage the creation of pitch materials, 1-pagers, and other sales enablement materials
- Own and manage website content
- Understand the needs of Metaplex creators, brands and artists
- Collaborate well with partners, customers, and teams cross functionally.
- Proactively identify blockers, opportunities, and improvements to the organization’s strategy, messaging, and product marketing materials.
- Participate in product development and roadmapping meetings
- Define key product value props for a range of market segments.
- Build internal “sources of truth” for product marketing language on the company’s wiki and iterate with stakeholders on the processes necessary to support that information.
- Look for opportunities to simplify our product marketing materials to make them more compelling and accessible to a wide range of audiences.
- Convert marketing plans into measurable results against specific team and company KPIs.
- Plan product events and identify opportunities to get Metaplex in front of growing audiences.
Ideal Candidate Background/Qualifications
- 5+ years experience in product marketing or growth marketing
- 1+ year of experience in a client-facing or partner-relation role, either artist relations, agency, or external stakeholder work
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proactive and solution-oriented.
- Open to collaboration and receptive to constructive feedback
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment
- Ability to set priorities, problem-solve, multi-task, and work independently in a dynamic, rapidly changing workplace
- Experience with direct marketing and marketing automation including A/B testing, customer segmentation and analytics
- Ability to simply and clearly communicate complicated/technical topics
- Excellent organizational, project management and people skills
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Nice to Have
While experience in blockchain technology is preferred, it is not a requirement. We are a technology company at heart, and we are looking for someone who is invested in leaning into the nuances of the space, to elevate our product marketing across all touch points.
