Finance Lead

Due to the pandemic we’re working entirely remotely. When it’s safe to do so we’re looking forward to folks collaborating in person again — but remote is totally cool too!

We’re looking for an organised and diligent Finance Manager to ensure the Finance engine of the business runs silently and smoothly. You will play a key role in our small (for now!) Finance team, and be responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of month-end close, the ‘silent running’ of core finance tasks and competencies, and the delivery of improvement projects.

Role Responsibilities will include:

• Core accountancy work - owning the financial statements of all group companies
• Supporting the production of financial forecasts, covering cashflow, income statement and group balance sheet
• Producing and maintaining dashboards and reports
• Owning and delivering ad-hoc improvement projects across finance and operations

Our ideal Candidate will have:

• A qualification as a Chartered Accountant (first time passes)
• A degree in a STEM/Computer Science subject
• Very strong “core accountancy” skills
• Very strong attention to detail
• The ability to build scalable processes and tools from scratch
• The ability to produce documentation (accounting policies, how-to guides)
• Expert-level Excel experience
• Previous experience working in a start-up or scale-up would be preferable
• Experience working in complex, multi-entity organisations, particularly those in multiple tax jurisdictions
• Data visualisation and report building (ideally in Google Data Studio)
• Knowledge of and interest in DeFi or crypto (beyond just buying and selling assets on Coinbase or Kraken)
• Proficient in a high-level programming language (e.g. Python, R) and SQL would be a great bonus
