Your Mission:

Given our extraordinary growth we are looking for a Head of Compliance to help scale our exchange offering, Bitpanda Pro. You will report to the Chief of Staff of the exchange, work with the exchange leadership team, and be responsible for interpreting international and local regulation and developing out our institutional offering in compliance with these laws and governing bodies.

What you'll do:

  • Work alongside the exchange Leadership Team, reporting directly to the Chief of Staff
  • Develop a deep understanding of the business internally and externally in order to provide in-depth analysis and advice
  • Direct internal policy on how the exchange responds to regulation and compliance
  • Help obtain necessary licenses for different business activities in different geographies
  • Co-ordinate any regulatory filings / reporting
  • Develop training materials and policies for the exchange
  • Keep statistics and track internal audits
  • Ensure exchange compliance to KYC and AML check
  • Pro-actively identify new business opportunities in relation to changing regulation
  • Work with in house and external advisors to monitor and implement
  • responses to regulatory change with a business focused approach

What we’re looking for:

  • Help obtain necessary licenses for different business activities in different geographies
  • 6 -10 years of directly related experience in a legal or compliance role with a substantial knowledge of relevant rules and regulations
  • FinTech / Scale-up experience is preferred but not a pre-requisite
  • Banking, Brokerage or Exchange experience is a must
  • Must have experience working in a small / hands on environment so those from Tier 1 Banks will not be of interest
  • Good understanding of regulation and financial market infrastructure
  • Mature judgement and discretion in keeping sensitive information confidential
  • Excellent oral and communication skills
  • Relationships amongst EU regulators
