As an Android Developer, you’ll join a small, talented mobile engineering team at Kiva. With the team, you’ll play a key role in implementing new native app features, experiences and frameworks in partnership with Design, Product, Data Science, and engineering stakeholders.

You’ll be our ideal candidate if you know that effective communication is among the most important tools in your toolbox, are dedicated to always looking for how things can be improved, refining your craft, and geeking out on emerging technologies, and are excited by the idea of joining our mission to advance global financial equity in collaboration with dedicated, passionate teammates.

This role is open to both remote U.S. based candidates and candidates local to our Portland or San Francisco offices, and will report to an Engineering Manager based in Portland. At this time, we can only consider applicants with authorization to work in the United States on a permanent, full-time basis; unfortunately we cannot provide visa sponsorship.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • 2+ years developing native Android applications
  • Experience with writing unit and integration tests
  • Strong knowledge of Kotlin and/or Java (Kotlin preferred)
  • Familiarity with Scrum and Agile practices

Desired:

  • Experience using Android Architecture Components and dependency injection.
  • Experience with GraphQL
  • BS or MS in Computer Science or related discipline
