OpenSea is the first and largest marketplace for non-fungible tokens, or NFTs, which are digital goods endowed with property rights. Applications for NFTs include collectibles, gaming items, domain names, digital art, and many other items backed by a blockchain. NFTs have brand new properties that go beyond traditional digital items: they’re unique, provably scarce, liquid, and usable across multiple applications. In this role you will be working closely with the VP, Business Development. We’re looking for a Director of Business Development to help us build the preferred NFT marketplace and drive business growth. You will play a critical role in developing and executing our strategy for partnering with top brands and platforms across a variety of verticals, including but not limited to product, payments, blockchains and marketing. As one of the early members of this small and nimble team, you will have the opportunity to launch new NFT categories and business lines through partnerships. What you’ll do:
- Contribute to overall partnerships strategy and lead the negotiation of complex partnerships across a wide variety of categories
- Own end-to-end deal process: partner prioritization, pitch, negotiation, close and implementation
- Work cross-functionally with customer success, marketing, product, and engineering peers
- Collaborate with product to develop tools and product features to address key partner needs and opportunities
- Identify, develop, and lead new initiatives focused on driving platform growth
- Scale the function as the company grows, attracting and developing amazing talent
You might be a good fit if you:
- Build strong relationships and have experience doing so across a variety of partner verticals
- Leverage creative thinking and dealmaking to close complex partnerships
- Are comfortable leading large deals with significant autonomy
- Utilize data to provide actionable insights and ensure we’re driving toward the best possible outcome
- Have outstanding interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence (EQ), and ability to persuade / drive alignment among differing perspectives
- Thrive in collaborative cultures and working cross-functionally with product, legal, finance, and marketing to launch successful partnerships
- A plus, if you have experience and/or is passionate in ecommerce and/or the blockchain

- Launching NFT drops with major global brands
- Negotiating and implementing channel partnerships to help grow NFT supply and new collectors
- Managing a fast-growing inbound pipeline while building and executing an outbound outreach plan
- Exploring and testing emerging NFT verticals for OpenSea such as ticketing
